Router question

What is the duration of nat mapping in a typical router, I am talking about a typical home use router , dlink, airlink, the cheap ones.

what i mean is when a udp connection is opened from a computer behind nat, say port 2000, it gets mapped to a port on the router (on the isp given ip). how long does this stay active if there is not data transfer, activity on that internal port.
