For the past month or so, I have been trying to run a Ventrilo VoIP server on a computer I hardly use. I have a router, so I have to forward ports for everything (of course). Recently I had reset my router to factory because I couldn't get into it via web browser. Then I added the port I needed to for people to be able to connect, and it worked...for a time. Today after running the server remotely again, it does not let people in despite the fact that it lets me in and that the port is forwarded.
Usually it locks up like this when I access my router using the so called "control utility", instead of a browser. I used the utility only because the browser interface would not let me add a port for another program (oddly enough). Now I believe that the controlo utility is still running on the actual router somehow, and is preventing people from joining my server.
Any ideas?
