router problem

I have a a D-Link DI-604 router. It is causing problems with torrent programs. If I don't use the router, my downloads show green/blue/whatever color denotes that everything is perfect. If I do use the router, the downloads are slower and the colors show as yellow or red to denote a problem.

For example, Azureus says NAT error when I do the test. My software firewall is set to allow the program and the port it is set to. My DSL modem is set to forward that port to my PCs IP address.

I've allowed these programs and their ports in the router firewall, the virtual server, and applications lists. i can't find any kind of NAT settings in the router set up.

Anyone familiar with this router and problem?

hmm...i fixed it, but explain this to me...

when i do an ipconfig, it shows my ip address as 192.168.0.100. my router is set to give me this address.
if i ping that address, i get nothing.

i was checking out my dsl modem and its also set to give out an ip address. its set to give out 192.168.1.2. if i ping this, i get a response.
if I do a finger 192.168.1.2, it shows my computer's name.

now, if i ping my computer's name, it gives back 192.168.0.100!!

I was forwarding everything to 192.168.0.100. once i forwarded it to 192.168.1.2, the torrent program said everything was good, no nat errors, and i get a green light.

wtf is going on here?

I guess i'll disable the DHCP on the router and see what happens.
