Router Port Question?

I just purchased a D-Link704p router the other day. Got both computers up and running sharing files and a cable internet connection without a problem. I'm new to the whole networking thing, so I've been reading the forum and checked out practicallynetworked.com but haven't found what I'm looking for. I do a lot of gaming, but can't seem to figure out how to open the necessary ports on the router to connect to the zone.com. I've used the 192.168.X.X page to try to use either dmz or open the required ports, but I'm not having much luck. Can anybody help me out that is familiar with this procedure? Or direct me to some sort of walkthrough other than practicallynetworked.com? I'm totally lost...Thanks in advance!!

I did a 30 second search on Dejanews for "zone.com 704". Seems to be lots of info.

by entering the internal address of the gaming machine into the DMZ configuration, you are basically forwarding every incoming request to that machine. this should allow you to play any game online. are you sure your entering the data right?

Thanks mg paulus! I'll have to browse through the link tonight hopefully this will help me out some. Techshock, I believe I have entered the correct information into DMZ is there a way to check to see what ports are open and if my gateway is fully exposed to the internet?
