Router Installation

I just got a Asus RT-N56U Dual Band Router and am trying to connect it to a Times Warner Cable Modem. It seems to work with a USB WiFi Adapter but when I try to connect using cables it seems to get a signal to the Router but no output to the NIC in Computer. If I bypass the Router and connect directly from the TW Modem to the NIC it works fine. I think I'm missing something. ??

Went back to Fry's today and got a replacement. Installed the new one and same problem.
So, I had an extra NIC and had a vacant slot open so I disabled the onboard Lan, installed the PCI NIC and it worked. Keeping my fingers crossed.
