I just hooked up my netgear WGR614 router on my main system no problem Now I want to connect my second computer in the house to the router so it can share a internet connection. How do I set the second system up, just connect the R45 cable to router and run the router softwear or will it configure itself.

Just plug it in to the router using an ethernet cable (RJ45 is the connector on the end of an ethernet cable), make sure that DHCP is enabled (it almost always is if you haven't changed anything), and it should work automatically.

If care about your Network Do not run anymore the So call Router software.

It a mistake to even Run it in the first time.

Netgear made ?strange? choices (it probably was designed by the marketing department) concerning the log-on into the WGR604v5.

You can log directly into the Router by typing into the Address bar of the browser:

I know it is a 133 mhz dino but It will be just for downloading files and what not or emergench in case I boneup my good system and need a connection to here for help. I will reboot as everything is slow as it took 3 minutes to open a program and it ran perfect on a fresh install of XP the other day.

The internet connection is fast now just the rest is slow.

It is a network server ( IBM NETFINITY) 133 mhz duel processor. It says 333mhz in the bios and with the susi HD 4gb but I changed the HD to a IDE IBM 20GB 7200 and installed windows and it says 133 mhz in device manager now but 333 in bios go figure. It may be I do not have the MB drivers for the system.
