Router for DSL

I'm planning to set up a small network with a soon-to-be hooked up DSL connection. I'm used to RoadRunner and my Linksys router has happily split my connection between a few computers w/o any problem, but is there anything I should be looking for in a router/switch to ensure it works properly with the DSL or is it a non-issue? Seems to me I saw something mentioned elsewhere that the router needed to have so I figured better to ask now than later.

Also, are there any particular makes/models/features you would recommend looking for? I don't do anything really special with it beyond splitting the connection but I do like to have fairly fine-grain control over the settings and I may try to set up a server for half-life, counter-strike, or whatever at some point here which the Linksys seems to be known to create problems with so any recommendations or tips would be appreciated.

Two different places; keeping the Roadrunner here and replacing a dial-up connection at my mom's with DSL. Basically, I guess if I can use my existing Linksys BEFSR41 4-port router over there with no problem I would probably do that and set the new router up here where I'm more likely to set up a game server. If not, I'll get one that will play nicely with the DSL for over there and leave it at that.

BTW, I see I forgot to mention but I'm looking for wireless on this one.
 
I'd stick to either Linksys or Netgear for your new router. I've had a Netgear WGR614 for awhile now with no issues. Most of these companies soho routers will have the options you need, they are pretty standard for the most part.
 
Depending on the DSL, a lot of times they want to install software on your computer that sets up everything which doesn't help setup the router. On the router settings you will just have to enter the info like username, password etc that allow you to use the connection at all. Other than that, I'd just use whatever router you have or can get cheaply. I've used SMC, Netgear, LinkSys, etc and for home use, they will all work just fine.
