Gary is an excellent guy iver there, and is speedy in getting out any ordered items. I have had the best of luck with the cables I have purchased from him......
Air circulation is increased without those fat cables and helps cool down the components. It is also alot easier when you are working inside and you dont have those fat cables to keep pushing around. Another reason is if you have a transparent side panel and you want to show off your computers innards.
I just buy them for looks really. but they do help airflow esp. if they are infront of intake fans.
you can buy them from anywhere.... i don't think there is a best rounded IDE cable.. i have probably 3 different brands, no prbs with any.

I bought thermaltake black round cables since they were the only ones I could find from the same manufacture ( Floppy, IDE ) and well ... they suck. The boot covers are not secured to either the cable nor the pin connector, sloppy.
I bought some for a 1.00 on ebay. They were better than these thermaltakes.
Only reason I have a rounded in there as well is b/c I didnt have a long enough ribbon cable to reach thetop drives, but you can buy longer if needed. I was just experimenting with cablegami.
if looks are what you're after and you like the look of cablgami grab some of those black ribbon cables that Asus supplies with their motherboards.
