rounded cables

i know rounded cable are good because they help air circualtion but i read that the integrity of data with rounded cables is lower than with traditional cables. is this true?

I once had a problem with 24" cables (longer than spec, many rounded types are 24"ers) but those cables also had loose connectors so I couldn't attribute the trouble to the cable length.

There is no real answer since a lot of people have evidence that rounded-cables do cause corruption....a lot of others say the opposite.

I would stick with IDE cables and just take the extra time to fold them out of the way of the airflow--rounded cables aren't going to help that much at all.

(others claim that you'll get data corruption based off of which kind of rounded cables you get---I seriously doubt it's brand specific but whatever.)

So, would 18" cables be in spec? Also, does the fact that the cables are bundled together possible contribute to data corruption?

i guess you need to measure what is more important to you....better cooling and possible corrupted data....or regular cooling with safe data.

my question is......how much better does it actually cool? if it's an amount that is too great to ignore, i might be willing to risk some corrupted data
