I wanted to round my own cables instead of paying extra for rounded cables. Does anyone know what the best way of doing it is? Like How many lines to cut. And whats the best tool to use to cut them. Thanks
Might I suggest folding the cables instead of cutting them. I've done both and folding seems to be the better way to go. You won't accidently ruin a cable. Folding works great with all cables including ATA66/100 and SCSI cables. All you need to do is fold it like an accordian or like a W in four equal parts. Then either tape or ziptie it. I prefer using different color zipties to help identify my different cables.
I fold mine as well. Instead of using zip ties, I use plastic spiral wire harness to keep mine in place. Very quick, easy and no chance of fubaring cables.
same as the others i fold mine as well..... But i didnt use a zip ties, I just go to radioshack and bought a pack of palstic tube and squeeze in. Looks pretty nice too! And no risk of getting data lost.
I've been rounding my cables for months now. Just use an exacto knife or razor blade to start the cut...go about 1/2 to 1" then pull the cable the rest of the way with your hands. It's easy and works. As far as data problems...not one yet. I do use zip ties to hold keep it neat.
Thanks a lot for the info fellas i appreciate it. As far as cables are concerned i rounded some last night. I did it how St4r did it, b4 i even read his post. It seemed quite easy. I was wondering where the cheapest place is to get those zip ties at? I'd like to get some black ones. Thanks again
