beat me to it...
They also just got a bunch of new laser-cut fan grilles in stock. A lot of them are pretty sweet looking, and are dirt cheap compared to everyone elses prices.

Good deal. I had to go for this. At the same time I got an 80mm to 60mm cooler adapter so I can put a bigger fan on my CPU. They have some good deals here. At first I chose USPS for shipping, but it was $10 for a $23 order. So I switched to UPS and shipping was around $6.

Doh, I just bought 6 of those rounded cables 🙁 Oh well.. they were still $4 cheaper than anyone else.

As for their quality, I've had em for 4 days and have experienced no problems at all. Good deal.

Oh yeah.. pardon the newb question, but wth does "YMMV" mean? Thanks!

Over $6 shipping for a coupla cables?!?!
People just don't understand shipping cost. I dare you to walk into a UPS office and try to ship anything for less than $6. Even USPS priority is around $4. Now if you are getting something featherweight, like a tube of Artic Silver, this place does offer free shipping.

The key for this place and many other places is never order one or two cheap items and expect shipping to be next to nothing. Do like I did, order $24 worth of stuff that is very competively priced and pay almost the same shipping cost as ordering one or two items. If you don't want that many, go to your local computer store where you will probably pay between $4 and $6 for round cables, not including possible tax and gas cost to drive to the store. Then you will understand the true cost of what you are getting.

YMMV= Your mileage may vary.
The deal isnt one of those definite walk in, walk out things.

sounds like svc is on the up and up. reseller's rating rising fast. good deals, well have to stop by and check out some of those grills.

BG, thank you very much!

And as to SVC, they messed up my order by not pulling one of the cables but another was in my hands less than 48 hours after reporting the mistake. Should the order have been flawless? Yes. Did they do their best to fix their mistake? Yes. Will I order from them again? Sure!

I don't recommend these if you want quality components in your computer. Ide cables optimally should have 'pull tabs' at each end so you don't have to yank on the ribbons to release them from the slot, risking damage to the wire connections, but especially for rounded cables because the wires are all individually attached to the connector and more at risk for damaging connections.

You can get away with them most of the time but you have to be very careful when the ribbons are stuck tightly in the slots. I suggest getting a few extras if you're going to use them or pay a little more and get ones with the tabs, which are attached to the connectors so the connectors get the pull tension and not the wires themselves.

Yo, I need some help y'all....

My friend bought some floppy round cables and they would not recogize both his and his sister's floppy drives..... he put the regular cable on and both the drives were working.... I thought maybe the floppy cable was bad, but 3 different cables didn't work. Anyone ever heard of this??

He's either putting one end on backwards each time or he got a bad batch of cables, which is very possible.

Those are only needed on cheap cables or where the wires are spit out. These are all togher at the end..

If you look at that close up picture, they do have tabs.

Edit: It even says "Includes pull tabs for easy removal." in the description. 🙂

The cheapest rounded cables here in NW Connecticut are over $10, plus the driving involved! This is a good deal for me! I was lucky enough to get my SLK-800 from SVC just before they raised the price, and it turned out to be an "A" model.

My friends and I have all bought the rounded cables from SVC and had great service. The cables were good quality.

excellent. 🙂

I assumed they didn't because none of the ones I've gotten from them have tabs.

funny cause their website selling the copper braided 36" ide cable states:

No pull tabs
The connectors on this cable are designed to be removed without pull-tabs. Contrary to popular belief, only low quality cables with connectors that are prone to fall apart come with pull-tabs. Pull-tabs increase the restriction to airflow and take up extra space.

They are very on the up and up! 🙂 Dealt w/them three times, all three times they were FAST, accurate and friendly. Not a single complaint do I have...and that's unusual. 😉

anyone one know if they'll let you pick up if you're local?

You can pick up local. I've had about 4 orders with them and all have been flawless.

Why would you need a dual device floppy cable though?

Probably that person has a floppy drive and a internal zip drive.

A month or so ago I was having heat problems and needed a couple of other parts anyway, so I ordered these from SVC. They are excellent quality. I went with a 36" IDE cable so I could relocate a couple of hard drives to the top of my tower. Doing that, and replacing my flat ribbon cables with these rounded ones dropped my temps almost ten degrees C. Well worth it.
