I've had their EIDE cables of each length for two weeks. They seem to be well made cables, and have been problem free.

If the company would stock rounded floppy and SCSI cables, I'd buy those as well. (Okay, they -do- carry rounded single-device SCSI cables, but I'd have to add more SCSI controllers or remove devices to make do! :p)

I had one brief e-mail exchange with the owner, and I'd complement him on responsiveness to my inquiries and to improving his site.

Lots of handy items at this company: knurled-knob screws to make your cases screw-driver-less; cable/case labels for those non-intuitive friends you've given computers; inexpensive cables for monitors and video gear; some inexpensive tools.

I trust the store, and I like all the items I've bought there.

How are these better than the regular ribbon cable?
Took me a minute to realize that they were internal cables.
They are, right?

Hey cheezewhiz,

Are the cables on OverclockedCPUs.com as good of quality as the ones on PCCables.com? Just wondering because the ones on PCCables looks great, but if I can get them cheaper on the other site I'd rather do that. I'm cheap that way. ;) Thanks!

That really looks clean and gives a better AirFlow.
I didn't expect it to be so clean.
Thanks for the pics. Now I may spend some on that.

I sent a note with the same kind of request. Maybe if enough of us ask, they will see a demand, and then the old economics theory MIGHT kick in. I have 5 SCSI devices in one comp (3HD/CDROM/Mini-CART), and 4 SCSI devices in the other comp (3HD/CDROM), so these cables do look very interesting.
I might order one of these anyway, since my main comp also has an IDE CD-RW, and LS-120 (I've got just about all the stuff in this SX-830 I can get in there  )

Real CHEAP SOLUTION for rounded ribbons.

If you take some nice looking tape and make one of those spare IDE's sitting around, Won't you get the same result, It may not look that cool but serves the purpose, Right?

OK they are no more ribbons.....

Vengog,

What exactly were you trying to say in that post?

<< OK they are no more ribbons..... >>

I'm just not understanding what you've said, is this english? The point of this thread was not "how to make your own cables" These are machine made, not hand made, and they are very high quality. If you want to make your own, that's great, but these cables have been out of stock from at least 2 vendors that I know of, for about a month now. I think you will see demand for them go up in the coming months.

divinemartyr, are you a BRIT?

We don't speak english here, ALL AMERICAN, having said that-

What do you think you see inside the nice moleded casing, a good (old fashioned) IDE ribbon. You can do the same with a sticking tape.

Rankor, good deal! Thanks.

They also have speed thumb case screws, 50-pack for $11.00. Good deal considering most places sell them for $.50 each.

i don't think it's good to wrap 80 pin ata66 cables with tape or ties or whatever. i've heard that you can damage the cables this way.

You can damage the cables, but they won't work if you damage them =) If your cables work after you cut/tape them, then your process was successful.

Vengog

Nope, i'm from America. Obviously you haven't been taught to speak AMERICAN properly either because I still have no clue what the hell you said.

I think you meant to say "You can do the same with sticky tape."

stifko: How are these better..."?

I had 4 sets of ribbon cables passing between my PS and card-cages [HA-08?]. This presents a challenge in flat-cabling as the devices have to be in cable-order since flat cables cannot weave around one another (A-B-A-B) between adjacent devices. Round cabling permits any ordering of devices as the cabling easiy slips around other round cables -- 'wish I could get down all round cables (on this system).

I'm all to frequently changing disks and devices while testing/loading friends' equipment: this results in having to shift resident devices up and down as I move in temporary devices on one cable, then on another. It's mostly an irritation-reducer for me.

On other systems I have, flat's fine: It blocks air flow a bit, but that's not a major issue on those systems.

I am concerned that these cables may not really meet ATA-100 spec's for cross-talk, but if I start having I/O problems I'll look into this more....
