Take it to your dealership and have them look at it. Don't take it to Pep Boys or a transmission chop-shop (as I like to call them). Be sure to bring a friend who knows x-missions to avoid the BS.

I already had it done, at a real shop.

It's a common problem with all nissan 240sx's. I use redline heavy shockproof tranny fluid and that stuff's GOOD SH!T! But I have a hard time shifting into 2nd/3rd when it is cold. After it warms up, the shifter just pops into gear easily, but sometimes get stuck trying to go into first gear. I have to double clutch sometimes to pop it into first. And mines a 97 too! Anyhoo, when I change out the clutch with an ACT kit, I'm going to replace EVERYTHING from the clutch fluid to the slave cylinder to the bearings and hoses.

Hey how is your stock clutch so far? Mine is friggin stiff, its either on or off. I don't know if it is the stock clutch as I bought hte car used. It was lady driven so I doubt it has a performance clutch in it.

I don't mind the clutch being stiff, but I'm pretty this isn't stock since it grabs so easily and quickly. I think I need more power to complement the clutch.

btw, Jellomancer: I got front Brembo x-drilled rotors with KBR performance pads..and holy crap does the car stop quick! I highly recommend them!

My clutch just feels like a normal clutch... not too stiff not too soft. :D

By stiff, do you mean its hard to push in? You might have a clogged master cylinder/slave cylinder, or the lady might have just replaced the pressure plate with an aftermarket one, which is usually 50%-100% stiffer than the stock.

I want the brembo brakes too! The stock brakes on these 240's are crap. I'm waiting on mckinney to release their brake kit to fit the twin turbo supra brake rotors, and depending on how much they cost, I'm either going to go with 300z brakes, supra brakes, or stick with stock and get the x-drilled rotors.

It's not stiff to push, well maybe a little, but it grabs hard. Much harder than most cars such as a 5-spd Saturn. You should go for the Q45 brakes or 300ZX, both pretty much bolt right in. However they are a bit overkill for street use, so I went for Brembo x-drilled rotors and PBR pads, its much cheaper too. Cost me around $250CDN with install for the fronts.
