Rotor issue??

First you got taken. I do not know of any car where the rotors only lasted 22K miles. Pads maybe, if you do a lot of hilly driving.
And the wear that is shown on the new is normal. As for brand, most cars can take an aftermarket rotor from most auto stores such as NAPA, Autozone or Pepboys just fine. And if you are picky, you can buy Brembo OE style (or better if you prefer) rotors for most any car for a very reasonable cost (a lot less than what a car dealer will charge you) ... I know people that went into a BMW dealer for brakes and it was over $800 ... another at a Mercedes dealer, over $1300

There was a lot of brake squealing and we took it to two places and got the same answer. It was a $850 job this is on an Audi Q7. But I don't understand how the new ones rusted like that and the stock aren't at all.

There is usally a coating of zinc on rotors to prevent rusting but that never lasts long. The aftermarket ones were probably cheaply coated. Rust on that part is fairly normal though but only 2k miles is a short amount of time. The only thing to be worried about is why are you getting brakes changed at 22k miles?!? How the hell do you drive?

This is my parents car, and my mom mostly drives it when I am not, she is hard on the brakes, but there other posts on Audi forums with people with the same issue 😱. So I was just wondering about the rust 😱

yea, I see that. Its just bothered me the stock are clean 😱 lol

take rotor off.
Sand the hat (the area that goes over the hub where the pads don't touch).
tape off the braking surface of the rotor.
Paint hat with a few coats of high-temp black paint.

No more rust and looks better. I should do it to my rotors but never got around to doing it yet.
