I took my new Acura TL to Wal-Mart a few days ago to change the oil and rotate the tires for the first time. I didn't realize that tire pressure monitoring systems are more complicated. When they told me about the procedure they have to use and the $20 surcharge, I told them not to rotate them (I can trust Wal-Mart for oil changes or moving the tires around, but I don't want them doing anything skilled.)
Where do most of you rotate tires on a vehicle with TPMS? My dealership charges $20 to rotate them, which is fair enough, but it's a pain to schedule a time to bring it in to them, and they charge too much for oil changes (plus they immediately suggested their $132 "service" which included some vague checking of the brakes).
Any of you had problems with the TPMS sensors after rotating the tires? Where do you suggest taking it, if not the dealership?
