Is that a good deal? I just helped someone build a system with one direct from ATI for $179.

Can you or others buy another one for $179 from ATI?

$289 is not bad for those who don't have to pay tax.

I'm using a PSU that is not 24 pin (just shelled out decent cash on a nice PSU last upgrade) and this card does not have a molex on the back. Anyone want to take a guess as to if I will have any stability problems?

All PCI Express x16 graphics cards (with the exception of the VERY low-end ones) use a new six-pin 12V connector that has to originate from a PCIe-ready PSU. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you're gonna have to get a new PSU - look at the OCZ Modstream at Newegg - modular cabling plus native SATA and PCIe connectors.

Actually, before buying the new PSU, you might want to try it first. I've seen some people here running x800xl pci-e on a 20 pin psu. If you have stability problems, then you can prepare some cash to buy those new 24 pin pSU.

Oh my bad. My above statement was a typo. The deal was $269 direct from ATI with a 10% coupon or something...anyway works out to almost the same thing.
