Roommate Wears Shoes in the House

most people do not take their shoes off inside the house. I base this narrow-minded statement on living my life, for 30 years, and taking my shoes off in (roughly) 1% of the houses I have visited. I suppose if I grew up in asia I would say the exact opposite.

Main reasons I've not walked outside barefoot often:
- Don't like stepping on sharp rocks.
- Don't like stepping on thistles.
- Don't like stepping on sharp sticks or tree bark.
- Don't like stepping on wasps/hornets/bees.
- Don't like stepping on sun-baked asphalt.
- Don't like stepping in mud.

So if I've got to go anywhere more than just a step outside onto the porch, I'll get flip-flops or shoes.

I've got both sidewalks, and grass and things to walk on.

I don't routinely walk outside without shoes, but I'm not afraid to walk barefoot if just in the yard. I'll chase the dog around the yard barefoot. How's that for disgusting?! Dog pisses everywhere in the grass! Though I try and avoid her "this is where I shit" areas. 😛

I'm shocked this thread has gotten as much attention as it has. Christ. Who cares?!?

I take my shoes off when I get home. I ask my guests to do the same when they come over. I like being barefoot.

I would never wear shoes if it was viable. I have hot feet, and they sweat

at home my shoes and socks come off almost immediately(and I ask guests not to tromp their dirty shoes all over my house)

people dont always notice when they walked through something that could stain flooring ETC

I still cant get my dad to take his shoes off half the time he comes over, but Ill smack him when they get on the couch or coffee table

yeah I play with the dog barefoot all the time, I do have a towel by the back door(cuz I have a dog, its pretty well a necessity) and if its bad its downstairs (tiles all the way) to wash em
