roommate bought a brand new Tiburon

$16,000 out the door, fresh off the truck. it's the 4 cylinder, but has every option. He bought it because A) he's 22 and has never owned anything near a "new" car, and B) the sick sick warranty that Hyundai is offering.

I'm jealous; he's < 1 year older than me and makes about 4x as much as I do. I want a new car instead of my POS 82 toyota pickup.

its a nice car... despite all the anti-hyundais... watch out for idiots that key cars. brand new cars are magnets for dickwads.

I secretly like the styling of that car. But I don't think they are very reliable. 16K is even less than what I paid for my civic 3 years ago.

my condolensces to your roomate 🙁

why ?

the new tiburons actually do look pretty nice, and Hyundai have a great warranty and better than average track record as of late.

not bad at all. what matters when your cruising or stuck in traffic are all those goodies coddling your ass 🙂 not your engine or whatever hehe.

yea, his warranty is 5yr/60k bumper to bumper, 10yr/100k drivetrain. Unbelievable. Too bad he didn't get the v6.

was 16k a decent deal?

some of us prefer the engine to "goodies coddling your ass"

well some of us are more realistic. have you seen traffic recently? and most 4l can break the law just fine already. any excess power is if you have money to spare or feel a need to compensate.

If it's fully loaded

I'd say it's a great deal.

I wouldn't be that jealous since I think the Tiburon looks like @$$ and I think "new" cars are a giant rip since I don't trust dealer/dealer mechanics at ALL.
For $16K you can own and maintain a used BMW or Lexus coupe for more than a few years and have a nicer car to boot.

I've heard of some crazy people putting the 4G63T (aka the engine that Mitsubishi uses for the Evo & DSMs) into a regular Hyundai Accent mimicing the real deal WRC Accent which is pretty much an Evo III.

You people need to take the Hyundai is crap stigmata out of your ass and learn a thing or two.

The same thing happened not too long ago when people associated Honda and anything Japanese with crap..it simply is not the case.

Ha ha. It's funny to see all these young guys go out and buy a Tiburon thinking they're all cool! Everyone knows their car was dirt cheap to buy. You get what you pay for; A POS!

When a company's high end car is only 90/month then something's wrong with the quality.
