Roomba + Fresh Pile of Dog Poop

Same happened to ours on 2nd use. Couldn't return it in that condition. Took quite some time to clean the wet shit out of all the working parts. The smell took much longer... It didn't have a chance to spread the shit as the smell of wet shit hitting a warm vacuum did radiate out pretty strongly and I caught it as it exited from under the bed...

I'd rather spend $400 on a high end vacuum that I know works than spend on a roomba. (We have a Miele.) We had a roomba here at work and I thought it just didnt clean very well. In fact, I thought it did a pretty half ass job. Not even shag or thick carpeting. Just normal linoleum flooring and low pile commercial carpeting.

Yes it cleaned by itself but I felt thats all it had going for it. In my house, vacuuming doesnt take longer than 30 minutes and thats to do the entire house, including moving couches, tables etc.... They have to drastically improve before i would even consider one.

the 900 models have much higher cleaning power than the older and lesser models.

vacuuming doesn't take long but with the dog tracking in bits of grass, leaves, pine needles, etc., and his habit of carrying his food somewhere else to eat it, i feel like i need to vacuum almost every day. so, roomba it is.

I understand your point, but roomba is good not for EFFECTIVE cleaning, but how often it cleans. This is crucial for pets. Just 2-3 days without vacuuming will make our downstairs just literred with dog hairs everywhere.... So roomba helps out a lot by getting most of it daily.

So you are clean enough with the roomba, but not beloved patriot and span? Kinda what I was alluding to when I said the roomba here at work did a half ass job. Despite having just traveled over an area, it still left behind crumbs, hair and other bits and pieces of debris. I'm not saying it didnt pick up anything as the dust collection needed frequent emptying. You could place it in the center of a mess and ask for a spot clean and it would frustratingly still miss alot. Not worth the hundreds it costs IMO. My problem with it was that it cleaned all night long but never got the place "clean".
