Roomba deal is back at Woot

Someone needs to poke in the eye with a white hot sewing needle whoever at woot keeps buying these things.

I keep wanting to buy one of these...but I don't really need a robot vac. But man...it would really drive my cats nuts.

i'd totally love to have one and i'm tempted to get one every time it's on woot... it's just that my house is all hardwood or laminate flooring.

This is the best Roomba model but note it's remanufactured and has only a 90 day warranty.

Cstefan:

PingSpike: I thought so too because my cat was terrified of my old standup vacuum but he pretty much ignores the Roomba.

timxpx: The Roomba still works good on hard floors. My whole place is tile and it works great. I also have the Scooba and it does a great job.

I bought a remanufactured Roomba over 2 years ago and it still works like new.

Timxpx: Like Robor just said, I also have mostly wood floors and I would say it actually works great on hardwood.

i still can't imagine that a roomba would be any easier than a regular sweeper.

uhh, what, you know this is automated...right it sweeps your house without you being there...

I push a button, walk away and come back later to find the floor swept. It's easier... I was skeptical till I purchased one and saw it in action... Big timesaver...

i used to have one of these...it doesnt work that great on carpet for those that are wondering...but it does work great on tile.

Yup, I brought the Sage from the last woot off and it is fantastic. In additional to cleaning, it also puffs the carpet, so it looks like new everyday. I run it everyday. And because everyone in my family has short hair, the maintenance of the robot is minimal.

The discovery is suppose to have better pathfinding ability, making it more efficient than the Sage, therefore wipes the floor cleaner!!

All of my floors are ceramic tile. I usually vacuum THEN mop or steam clean them. The whole process sucks. Should I buy this unit (a vacuum) or the Scooba (a wet cleaner for hard floors) or both?

Thanks for your input ...

I can confirm the Discovery has better 'ledge' detection - for instance, your shower or sliding glass door tracks. I have a Sage and I broke it by putting it on my back porch with indoor/outdoor carpet. I got a Discovery to replace it and I don't have to use virtual walls anymore because the Discovery doesn't fall in the shower stall or get stuck in the door tracks. My friend had to RMA his Sage and got a Discovery in return. He experienced the same thing.

Unless you have very little dust, dirt, hair, etc I would say both. The reason being is the Scooba doesn't have a very big 'trap' for debris.

Damn you too! and the rest of you. Hmmmm I think Ill tell my wife its her mothers day gift 🙂

buy both and make them duel like on that old tv show Battle Bots, I'd put my money on Scooba because the water would probably short out the Roomba. A few mods like spinning razor blades and a beefed up motor you'd have a nice battle. Also if one destroys the other it can clean it up 🙂

LOL. That's tempting. Thank god I don't have money or this is the kinda stuff I'd do all day 😉
