Roomate just brought home a chest freezer..

heyyyyyyyyyyy..... A few people were convinced the old guy who lived here before we purchased the house started hiding his money somewhere in the house... It was never found. I had to take 2 chest freezers out of our barn and dump them in the woods because they had food that sat in them for 3 years between the deaths of the previous owners, foreclosure, and finally our purchase. It was the worst smell in the world. But, maybe... just maybe among all the wrappers littering the ground (I'll pick them up in the fall when I haul those freezers to the dump) there are a few packages of foil wrapped money 🙂

I have experienced that odor under almost similar circumstances.

It IS terrible. 🙁
 
As was mentioned, buying food in bulk should more than make up for any energy costs the freezer will create.
