hahaha

“I used to think it was all about lifting in the gym until I hooked up with my last nutritionist Chad. If you wanna get big, you have to eat big. He took me from my 10 ounces of chicken, steak, turkey, whatever meat, to 16.

That’s how I got 600 grams of protein. I went from eating five meals a day to six meals a day. Only way I could do six was wake up in the middle of the night while I was sleeping, eat and going back to bed.”

A pound of meat eat each meal, 6 times a day lol. The latest science has tested up to 400g of protein intake a day safely (barring any medical conditions like CKD). So far, our kidneys seem to process up to 500g of protein a day naturally.

If you need me, I'll just be here switching my midnight snack to a dull pound of deli meat haha

That's a whole lot of first place finishes.

But I wouldn't want to be him. And I wouldn't want to be Arnold either. Everything comes at great cost.

Homie wrecked his body and has had 13? surgeries so far. I don't even think he is presently able to walk. He should talk about all the gear he was/still is? on, not how much meat he ate. ;) I get it though; better to burnout than to fade away. He managed some serious fame and a bit of fortune along the way.

One of my karate friends was a BB for 5-6yrs. Part of his routine was getting up at 3am to fire down 4 chicken breasts. He looked good and won some smaller comps, but as he put it. -In the end he was covering himself in shoe polish and going on stage in women's underwear. 🤣

Ewww. I like breasts but not chicken ones. I had one a week ago and damn, it was in my system for two days and I felt the heat in my gut for those two days (slow digester). That's why I avoid chicken breasts if given a choice. My protein needs are minimal.

Considering where you live, are you certain it was chicken? :p

I eat a lot of chicken and turkey. My protein needs are high. Chicken is such a versatile protein source, with so many different and delicious ways to prepare it. No wonder you are chronically sick. All the new age hippy shit and bro science you are into is killing you.

We could make this a running list of the extreme dietary needs of BBs and Strongmen.

Jay Cutler used to eat 140 eggs a day. Now you'd never know from looking at him, he was once an absolute unit.

Nah. My blood group is B+. Everyone I know with this blood group has chronic digestive issues. I am able to fix mine with a supplement but it's very expensive and only available via importing from the US which makes it even more expensive. I would definitely be on it if I were making twice what I make.

I would hate to be reborn as that guy. Two eggs is the most I can take in a day.

I've been fearful of excess protein ever since I saw this:

At one point, that researcher mentions that excess protein hampers the ability of a key repair mechanism in the body. Based on that, here's my personal thoughts on dealing with protein in food:

Veggie protein (mostly harmless and hard to eat in excess)
Red meat (also hard to eat in excess coz it's expensive)
Fish (possible to eat in excess but the fear of mercury contamination would prevent me from doing so)
Chicken (easy to eat in excess and the few times I have, I have felt the effects of it so I automatically keep myself from eating too much of it)
Eggs (can't eat more than two anyway. Otherwise I will get really bad sulfur burps or even massive spontaneous gut purge. Wouldn't eat just egg whites. Those don't taste that good to me. I'm a lover of the full egg tasting experience!)

That awful chicken breast experience about a week ago was only coz it was marinated so well (just the perfect amount of salt) that I couldn't stop eating it. Usually I will eat about half of it and give the rest to my villa cats.

I remember reading interview with AHHNUULD where he says based on contemporary science he would not have eaten nearly as much protein as he was fooled into believing he needed. Describing the scene as the Wild West back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s as far as "wisdom" of gaining muscle went, more like cult personalities (and marketing products) driving things rather than good science.

IIRC said he could have done just as well on 1.5 G per kg per day MAX.

Isn't the issue with him being able to walk because he hurt himself squatting/deadlifting and rupturing a disc?

I'm not saying the gear and all that stuff didn't play a part because without it he couldn't get that big obviously. But everyone knows how much gear he was on it's not a secret or anything.

Way beyond that, he is FUBAR - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronni...ealth concerns, more to consolidate his legacy.

The extreme weights Coleman used over the years took a toll on his body, and he has undergone more than a dozen surgeries since 2007. These include double hip replacements and various attempts at alleviating chronic pain from damaged intervertebral discs[53] costing millions.[54] Despite using a wheelchair[55] because he can no longer walk unassisted due to surgical procedures,[56] Coleman continues to train, but uses only light weights now.[57] Coleman has always said that he does not regret his choices and admits that he was determined to be the best bodybuilder he could be at any cost; even saying that, if anything, he regrets not having done even more to consolidate his legacy.[53]
