yeah, that's what I've always thought, but for soem reason after I watched it again, it just didn't seem worth all the trouble everyone went through (couldn't ya just make a copy of the friggin' thing?!)
The fact that the russian mob and irish terrorists both wanted it, and the CIA wanted to keep it out of their hands, leads me to think it was information of some nature. Probably undercover agent names, business documents linking clandestine operations, etc.
