**Ron Paul took 24% and five national delegates in Idaho!**

Ron Paul took 24% of the vote in the Idaho primary.. In fact he received almost 10,000 votes more than Hillary on the democratic side. Not too bad. Can't wait to see where we start in 2011. Remember folks that's only three years away and Ron Paul has dedicated his life to freedom, liberty and to uphold his oath which is the constitution of the United States of America. Unlike those other candidates he will not go away and will only gain traction as time goes on. 24% of Idaho republican voters said we don't care if he can't win this time around. They have overcome the blindness and voted for Ron Paul anyway. Just imagine what will happen when the majority hears about the man and the movement. There is still hope that we can educate to masses. I refuse to hide silently in the background. Revolutions take time.

I will make you a promise right now. The Republican party will never get those votes back. 😀 McCain is fucked.

That alone makes it worthwhile.

Ron Paul - just another career politician who's found a niche audience, a way to try to differentiate his brand name. Been there, done that.

He got 24% in an election that didn't mean anything and in which he ran virtually unopposed. Good work!

It is a bummer that so many people bash him it seems .. only to be bashing the odd guy out

You probably believe and wish for more of the things he wants to do than you even know because the media won' cover his topics

We bash him because he's too extreme in some of his viewpoints and most of his acolytes are idiots.

I didn't vote at all, because I thought Idaho Democratic primary was over a month ago (that was the caucus). We had voting going on at our school and there were only a few that even showed up.

These results are completely irrelevant. Everyone that would vote for McCain already know that he is the nomination, so they don't go out and vote. Whereas the Ron Paul acolytes, for some unknown reason, are still out in full force.

Bingo!

 Good, the enthusiasm is still high, and seems to be growing, too.

Oh of course the goal is not to win here in 2008. The goal is to keep going, keep pushing, have an impact, and make change.

Like us or not, we aren't sitting on our asses hoping change will come. The people still have the power in this country. If you Dem's are mad, don't be, we'll hand Obama a presidency. If the Rep's are mad, don't be, we're fixing your party. Then we'll fix the country. Free at last, free at least, thank God Almighty, free at last!!

 for Paul.

RPBs will never get traction, thank god for that.

Pretty much. As a Paul supporter, keep in mind he was getting early votes as well. IIRC he even got as much as Guiliani in a few states. The sad part is that noone really watched the debates, for that is where Paul shines.

He doesn't "shine" in the debates when it comes to what everyday Americans want or need. He goes on tengential attacks on the Fed, spouting off "inflation tax" or "devaluation" and other such shit. Then he completely ignores reality re: worldwide commitments and the disasterous policy of quasi-isolationism.

He ends up sounding like Mr. Stuttering Mgoo goes to Washington.

If he went for straight talk, speaking about reducing wasteful government, reducing taxes, increasing personal privacy while not reducing the essential (but reduced omnidirectional rights violations) of terrorism prevention, he might actually "shine". His message gets lost in the stupidity.

This is expounded by his acolytes who say stupid shit like "the Fed is a scam" or "inflation tax" or isolationist propaganda.

If anything, his zealots do far more harm than good to his campaign.

As far as beating "9/11", so fucking what? WOW, he can beat a one-dimensional greaseball who cheated on his wife, dumped her in a public press conference, had many affairs, hated by his kids, obviously manipulative, jackbooted despot.

Big fricking deal.

I'm not sure what debates you were watching, but in most of them he's a straight shooter. Watch some of his debates on youtube again with an unbiased, media-brainwashed opinion. The fact that you believe his foreign policy as "isolationist" already proves the media has brainwashed you with regards to Paul. For example, you probably didn't know that Paul had raised more money in 2007 from military contributions than any other candidate including Obama and McCain. Of course they probably like him because of his immediate plan to withdraw from Iraq, but they certainly aren't typically fans of "isolationist" policy that you falsely claim Paul subscribes to.

Guiliani had a huge share of the vote early, he was no slouch. Neither was Romney, and Paul beat him in Louisiana. The point of the matter is that Paul has consistently beat top contenders like Rudy, Huckabee, and Thompson.

The average American cannot understand Paul on certain topics such as the gold standard, I agree. But there is no way to really explain why it would be an effective plan without completely dumbing it down, which maybe Paul needs to do to get the blue collar vote. IMO a 3rd party (hybrid Llibertarian) should take the major strengths of all 3 parties and form a viable 3rd option. Even though the media has already tainted Paul's campaign, the support he is receiving shows that Americans are open to the idea of a 3rd party under the right circumstances.

You're not gonna change LegendKiller's mind. He'll continue to vote for interventionists and continue to wonder why we're always at war with someone.

He needs to run in the general and campaign extremely hard in the West -- particularly in CO, NM, and NV.

Maybe MT and ND

I am far from interventionist. But I am not isolationist.

A summery of what happened in every single Republican debate right here..
They attempt to throw a sucker punch at Ron and Ron fires back with logic and reason. This is why Ron always dominated the debates. Nothing he did or said was ever scripted.

And you're supporting Obama, right? You don't think placing economic sanctions on countries like Iran is part of an interventionist foreign policy?

He's a "straight shooter" but he's shooting straight the wrong way. His tangential attacks completely miss the real problems and detracts from his overall message.

Him and his followers have clearly espoused the idea to withdraw from most (if not all) international bases. Iraq withdrawal is stupid at this point, I'd have thought we'd have learned that lesson several times by now.

I did know that RP raised that much from the military, but it means nothing.

Romney and 9/11 were jokes. People started seeing through it pretty quickly. Huck and Thompson were never really "top" contenders.

The gold standard is a fools errand. It can't work and even trying to explain it opens you up to many problems. I have shown that time and again.

I would agree that provided you stay away from tangential issues, a 3rd party candidate could work. However, I don't see that happening.

It all depends on what you term interventionist. Don't place people in strict buckets, otherwise you're no better than Bush. Life is full of shades of grey.

Well, when, and if, we have 8 years of "peace" under Obama, don't be surprised when his Republican predecessor invades Iran, and the Republican loons post previous Obama quotes and Obama actions as an apology. Because that's likely to happen. Obama is gonna be "tough" on Iran just like Clinton was "tough" on Iraq.

The problem is people like you who are so brainwashed. You jump up and down shouting ZEALOT ZEALOT. WITCH BURN THEM!!!
RP only problem is that he's willing to tackle the real problems with this country, not just the feel good things that the morons (read democrats) push. A gold standard is a must. How can your money be worth anything if there is nothing to back it up?
As far as isolationism, he isn't about isolationism, he's about fixing our problems first. Americans need to worry about Americans 1st. Before 1 single dime is sent out of this country for "aid" and "humanitarian reasons" we need to make sure that children and families in this nation are not going to bed hungry.
But it isn't PC to say, I helped a starving kid in Detroit today, it's better to say, I saved a starving kid in Africa.

LOL, "brainwashed". Please, leave the tin-foil hat shit where it belongs, the bargain bin at wal-mart.

A gold standard isn't a "must". a currency is worth what the market dictates, not what you think it's worth against a shiny rock. There's no difference between value benchmarked by a shiny rock and one benchmarked against the US as a whole, which is what the current dollar is backed by.

There are so many fucking problems with any asset backed dollar that only idiots would agree to one by now. If it was so damn great then *ONE* country would be leading the group in going to it and dominating the world with it. But guess what? There isn't one major country that has an asset backed currency. All that had one realized its unwieldy and eventually collapses in upon itself.

That's not brainwashing, that's reality. If you want to ignore history, economic, finance, and reality, go right ahead. That's why you'll never gain traction in the real world.

As far as "take care of america first", I couldn't agree more. Yet somehow that message doesn't get conveyed when he advocates stupid positions.
