Or, you know, individual rights and civil liberties could be protected. I know, it's crazy, but they could even be protected against both the federal government and even state governments!

Wow, your Paulbot hardware must have malfunctioned. Paul wouldn't be fine with that because it was at the federal level. He would be more than happy to see that and even oppression of minorities at a state level. Wow, you really are a dumb Paulbot.

Newsflash, Wall Street has had the federal government along with the rest of America bent over since 1913. Ron Paul is the only person willing to actually stand in the way of wall street.

But I guess only racists want him elected so he could repeal the civil rights act and then lobby as POTUS for governor's of southern states to push for the reinstatement of jim crow laws. Oh and this

Ron Paul would be fine with supporting Wall Street at the state level.

Newsflash, Ron Paul would also be fine with states oppressing minorities.

That's why there's this crazy notion that civil liberties and rights also apply against state governments, which is something that Ron Paul despises.

I asked this of someone else in a different thread, or this thread many pages ago, didn't receive an answer. Which states do you think wouldn't enact their own civil rights act and instead look to reinstate jim crow type laws in the event that Paul repealed the Civil Rights Act that you are off spouting all this fear-mongering over Dr. Paul?

Here's how I feel about this particular issue.

A. It'll never be repealed, it's simply something he talks about as a state's rights guy.
B. Even if it was repealed it would be a token gesture at best as every state would simply enact a carbon copy of the act.

Lots of Southern states. For example, if Ron Paul had his way right now, then there would be immediate effects right now. AL has in its constitution a provision on segregation that they still refuse to remove. Other such states require a belief in a religious being in order to be in political office. All of these provisions are unenforceable under the portions of the constitution that Ron Paul opposes.

The fact that you're only talking about the Civil Rights Act also indicates to me that you don't really understand Paul's full positions and the implications of his positions.

Sorry, but I'm not willing to remove individual rights and civil liberties on a hope that some state level politicians won't infringe on them in the future either.

The fundamental founding document of our nation, the Declaration of Independence, reads in part:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

To our shame, we abandoned this principle in return for unity with those states where slave-holding was an important economic activity. Nonetheless, it seems to me to be perfectly valid that these rights, the very founding spirit and soul of our nation, should be protected at the federal level. No state should be allowed to make a mockery of our Declaration of Independence, and while you are certainly correct that today every state would pass its own Civil Rights act, that certainly wasn't the case in 1964.

I'm fine with states' rights, but the fundamental human rights granted by G-d and recognized by our Declaration of Independence and later by our Constitution and Bill of Rights should not be among those rights devolved to the states. These are not rights granted by man, they are rights granted by G-d and protected by man.

Rooting out psychopathic racists like Ron Paul should be a top priority. Thankfully he wrote newsletters discussing his horrific views, so it's not difficult to find his positions.
