Personally I would not want my campaign to be associated with white supremacists. I would not want to have to spend time talking about it.

Appartently being associated with white supremacist is not an issue with his supporters, at least the ones in this thread,

But I bet if Paul comes in 2nd or 3rd in NH this will be a national issue.

See, the reason people think like this is b/c of lobbying. However, if a candidate is not one who is swayed by lobbyists and their bribery, then it really isn't an issue.

seriously... the media tries to find anyway to sully his name... I can't honestly think this is the first outspoken crazy person to make a donation... yet they only report if it happens to ron paul...

Seriously it isn't like the first time a white supremacists has ever donated.

It's my understanding that RP has wide support from all types of white supremacist groups. I recall hearing that a vast number of prominent hate-group leaders publicly support his campaign. Why is this the case? Anybody care to shed some light?

It probably has to do with Paul's "Strict Constitutionalist" approach. Remember, as written, blacks are worth only 3/5 of whites. I imagine that thinking appeals to them.

Kindly don't revise history. That clause was intended to take 2/5th of the vote away from their white masters. If it hadn't been in there, the South would have had more power and representation in Congress than it did, and things might have gone a lot worse for the black slaves.

If you are running on your own deeply held values you would. Then again if you have no values then I can see why.

If a person with ties to the communist party in China sends Paul money should he return it?

You don't see the difference between someone with ties to a foreign government and a US citizen?

So a US citizen with ties to a terrorist/hate group is okay in your book? What about a US citizen with ties to organize crime?
Supremacist groups (Apples) are LEGAL. Organized Crime (Oranges) is ILLEGAL.

You keep trying to make a point that doesn't exist.

I prefer the $500 out of the psycho klans hands myself and if he wants to give it away well hey then it's legally out of his hands of doing more damage.

You know, I love it. I really do. For two reasons.

One, the fact that people are trying to dig up dirt on Ron Paul proves he's moving up a bit. And two, the dirt you see is going to be pretty damn petty. What's next, "Ron Paul admits to putting bananas on his PBJ sandwiches!"

You're right there. I'm not a RP supporter but if this 'dirt' is the best they can come up with I'd say he's in pretty good shape! :p

Dear jeebus, Ron Paul has the old bush effect! No matter what he does, his supporters find a way to excuse it.
Tell me who you're voting for and I guarantee I'll be able to get you to excuse something that they've done in less than 10 minutes. Sadder still, I'll bet I could get you to do it without even realizing it. You hacks are all the same.

There's a difference between excusing and accepting. I accept Joe Biden plagiarized a speech in the 1980's, I realize it's wrong, but I think it's irrelevant. That's not what's going on here.

Who said anything about "accepting"? I think you just made my point right there.

How many millions is Hillary's corporate war chest up to right now? And yet how many rabid anti-corporate types hail her as a hero? How many super-strong atheists are going to vote for her while she has regular private prayer meetings with Billy Graham?

And so forth and so on with both parties and all ideologies until I puke from exhaustion. If you guys are looking for hypocrisy in politics, I suggest a mirror.

What are you talking about? You are conflating separate things here. Nobody is going to find a perfect candidate, you do the best you can. But pretending your candidate is perfect when they are not is disturbing. For example, i dont like hillary all that much but i'll vote for her over giuliani any day.

Paul is not my candidate. I have no intention whatsoever of voting for him.

Why not? I await your answer in anticipation. :)
