Romney's former firm, Bain, advised Obama on the bailout

This ought to throw all the left/right party tards off their game. Obama good, Romney bad, Bain greedy, but Obama working with Bain aieeeeee Or conversely Obama bad, bailouts really bad, Bain good, Romney bad or good and Obama working with Romney and Bain on bailouts...head explodes.

The world of black and white is falling apart it seems...

All it does it take away Obama's ability to use Bain against Romney. The bailouts can still be attacked because they failed to do what Obama claimed they would do.

I don't think Romney is really afraid of losing Michigan. Heck, I seriously doubt anyone thinks a Republican could win that state anytime soon. Between the unions and the government freeloaders, there aren't many to vote republican left in that cesspool.

Are you simply insulting Detroit, or the entire state of Michigan?

I would say 95% of that was directed at Detroit but the state as a whole is in rough shape. Granted outside Detroit it gets much more down to earth but businesses have been fleeing that state and not just the Detroit metro. What Romney said is somewhat true, the only way its going to get fixed is if there is a complete reset, i.e. let them go bankrupt.

Looks like your attack fell flat. Check the link again. The story has been retracted.

Bummer dude!

BTW - you'll have to change your thread title

There's Bain & Co. which is a consultancy which Obama likely used. Then there's Bain Capital which is a PE firm and is entirely separate, and is the source of Romney's history in private equity.

Romney started off at BCG, then went to Bain and Co, and then went to Bain Capital.

The bailouts did exactly what he claimed they'd do and he was right in doing them.

Your first sentence is theoretically true, but Obama doesn't have to use Bain directly against Romney. Gingrich's video is going to be viral up through November. Obama need not ever even comment on Bain.

Link now states that they were wrong...journalism at it's best!

Wow, that's odd.

I heard this report from several different sources. Seems odd they would ALL get it wrong.

even if it's true, my understanding is that Romney hasn't had a role in Bain since 1999, and all of his investments have been in a blind trust since 2003.

This is a tricky one to parse. Here's what I've decided
Obama - good person, would make a bad corporation
Bain - Good corporation, but bad as a person
Romney - ok person, would be better as a corporation though

Edit: Just want to mention that Obama is the only one who's birth certificate I've seen.

Detroit has supplier base all over the country, including battleground states like Ohio. Dana Corp ring a bell?

GOP is going to do badly in manufacturing heavy states like Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. They lose those three and the election is basically over IMHO.

disagree and disagree. i do not believe it did what he or others claimed and i do not believe they were right in doing them. they might not have been as bad as some had said they were, but they weren't perfect and GM still is putting out shit, the volt sucks(have you been in one? it's meh the LEAF is far superior as is the Prius) and Chrysler is shit and will never make a real comeback.

You are getting desperate, but it's transparent, so keep it up.
