Keep in mind that state budgets don't include military spending, nor do they include SS and medicare benefits and taxes.

Also, if he had signed Romneycare into law earlier rather than at the end of his term, MA would've had deficits during Romney's term as governor. The deficit skyrocketed once Romneycare took effect.

Why does he get a pass on this?

He also supported the bailouts, even though he denies it now.

In addition to being a fiscal liberal, he supports the Brady Bill, which means he has no respect for the 2nd Amendment and States' rights.

We don't really know his position on abortion either. He probably wouldn't support overturning Roe V Wade.

The fact that he's the front runner makes me sick.

Makes him a good successor for the nomination of the Republican party, following in the ideology of Bush and McCain. His betrayal of conservatism makes him the 'electable' candidate as they were.

The fact that he's a front runner simply means the tea party failed, and will continue to fail so long as they continue to accept the existence of the GOP.
