is there an "undo last move" or something other than auto-save in either game?
nothing pisses me off more than when you try to move a unit stack about 1/2" (a one turn move) and the AI suddenly determines that your unit stack should take 24 freakin turns around a mountain. usually, you can kinda mouse over the target area and see the path but that doesn't mean that will always go that way. aggravates the hell outta me.
i must be missing something.
I got annoyed at things like this to, so eventually started making saves before the end of every turn.
As for playing one of the eastern factions, it is one of the funnest and most annoying things in the game. I just finished my third civilization as Byzantines and faced the entire Mongol army. When the annoucement came, I sent spies to keep up on them. Initially, I thought they were retarded and stuck in the mountains. Then they poured out after a few turns and seized two cities north of Jerusalem. Lost my first few battles and an entire army I sent trying to go toe to toe with a full stack. Bad idea. Then they started sieging my citadels and cities which I had full stacks of archers defending. Those were 1/2 hour long battles, but I came out the winner in all of them. That or I reloaded

. Eventually took down a couple full stacks this way. When they finally thinned out enough, I could actually go toe to toe and win, which was awesome.
Same thing happened with the timmurids, but any non-siege battle killed off too much of my armies.
