Alm4rr it is funny that you quoted the negative side of the gamespy review as a way of informing people looking to buy the game. Why not just link the entire review? Is it because they gave it a FREAKING AWESOME REVIEW? It got a 4.5/5 on Gamespy.

The bottom line is, if you love strategy, and prefer a little historical realism instead of fantasy units, this is your game. There's nothing else like it on the market. Sure, it might be a little complex for the casual gamer, and it might be a little rough in places, but Rome is as deep and as satisfying as they come. Veni, vidi, vici!

I was using it to show that that not all is perfect with the game so the OP or others wanting to buy are not utterly disappointed in it
No doubt - it is a good game, but that quote was to address a previous statement.

I guess they worked something out with Activision as this first patch addresses really only the MP problems and not the SP probs (except tweaking of elephants which I haven't checked on yet).... Hopefully they will get around to a SP patch before the expansion pack

Don't get this game if you are responsible for any aspect of your own life. It is addictive. I am thinking about it now, I dream about it, I make no effort to call my fiance.

This is the best game I have ever played since SimCity2000. It's that good.

Oh, and my DVD drive loaded it right up, incase anyone wondered.

I didn't have any problems loading it via a DVD drive, either. It's a fantastic game, best of the year by far.

This game is a lot of fun. Lots of strategy and empire building, kinda like how Cossacks should have been done.

However, it has some major bugs. I've had the game crash to desktop on me and corrupt all my save games. If you go to the company's forums there are many other people with the same problem, and other crash issues.

I'd recommend waiting until they have a patch for those bugs (yes they released the 1.1 multiplayer patch but they don't say they address those specific issues for campaign mode).

Woah, the game is good. Definitely better than Shogun, which I thought was one of the best games I ever played. 3D graphics alone are worth it. The game also gives you more management options, bigger technology and building trees and more different types of troups. Batles are also easier, your archers no longer charge your opponents cavalry.

I started using the mod for playing all the factions and so far the Senate has been the most fun!
Check it out if you are a more Simcity type player as playing as the Senate gives you the opportunity for building cities and not worrying about the warring part all the time ;)
