Do any of you guys know how to get out of a rolling stop sign ticket? I seriously can't spend $200 (ticket + traffic school) for this right now.

1) Go to your traffic court date
2) Plead innocent
3) Hope the judge is in a giving mood

Otherwise, start budgeting.

Stop. Then procede.

If you have already gotten the ticket, then your chance of getting out of the ticket has rolled right past you.

take a picture of the stop sign in question and explain to the judge how you didn't really have to stop since it didn't say "stop all the way"

What's a rolling stop sign? Most are octagonal and thus don't roll too easy. Lots of flying stop signs in FL last year though!

 the replies in this thread are funny.

OP, when you've been here long enough, you'll soon realize that people trying to get out of tickets get no sympathy on this forum. Pay the fine and come to a complete stop next time.

Well, you need to get 1.21 Jiggawatts through the Flux Capacitor so that you can go back in time and not run the damned stop sign.

Are you guys just being asses or do you really stop fully for 3 seconds at EVERY stop sign?

Unfortunately, you have to go 88 mph to activate it, so you might get another ticket in the process.

Best advice so far.

Go to court, and plead innocent. Politely ask the judge if the ticket can be reduced to a parking ticket and say you will go to driving school.

Most of his decision will rest on your driving history. If it's clean he will be much more inclined to let you slide with just a non-moving violation and driving school.

Either way, you're going to have to pay money.

I know when to roll and when not to roll. In California most people don't stop. Our police have better things to do, at least in my area.

Well, if there was an easy way out of it then we would have told you about it. There isn't though. Next time come to a complete stop.

You can go to court and see if the judge will reduce your fine but you are probably going to have to pay it. Budget accordingly.

No. But when I get caught and ticketed, I'm not going to whine "OMG I broke t3h law and now I have a ticket, and I don't feel like going to traffic school to get it wiped. This is so unfair. Life suXX0rZ."

If you got caught doing a rolling stop and an officer took the time to pull you over for it, 9 times out of 10 it means you COMPLETELY blew it off (rolled through without slowing down at all, or only very slightly). So don't expect a lot of pity here.

Edit: If you did slow down almost to a stop, and the cop who pulled you over was just having a bad morning, you might be able to get it thrown out.

Yes, I stop at stop signs. What a concept. :p

More importantly, if I get a ticket, I STFU and accept it.
