Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs

Bohemian Rhapsody is 163?!
EDIT: Dream On is 172?!
Hey Ya! (that stupid Outkast song) is 180? WTF is that crap doing ahead of Freebird (191) and Iron Man (310)?!
EDIT2: They put the Run DMC version of Walk this Way (287) ahead of the original Aerosmith version (336)?

Out of all of the Metallica songs they pick sandman( 399)... not a bad song, but I def. think others would have been a better choice.

The most recent songs on the list are "Smells like Teen Spirit" (#9) and "London Calling" (#15).

Any glaring omissions? Songs you think are misplaced?

How the hell did "Smells Like Teen Spirit" get up so high. I have nothing against Nirvana, but this is just a travesty.

After the Greatest Albums and Greatest Guitarists lists why are you surprised?

40% of those songs are from the 60's.
The 50's, 70's, 80's, 90's and now are the rest of the 60%.
The 60's weren't that good.

The Good, The Bad, and Teh Fscked Up...

"Good Vibrators" by Beach Boys? "I Get Around" all the way!! :|

And what's this? "Let It Be" by Beatles? How funereal.

The Doors "Light My Fire" and that's IT?

What? No Jimi Hendrix "Third Stone From The Sun"?

And where teh fvck is Bowie "The Man Who Sold The World"?

What about The Cure "A Night Like This"?

HTH did The Clash's "Train In Vain" get chosen instead of a shiatload of its superior brethren e.g. "London Calling"?

C'mon, at least ONE Manic Street Preachers track. It's easily "A Design For Life." Then again, what the hey, there's virtually zilch Britrock entrants in there.

The Kinks "You Really Got Me", "Waterloo Sunset"

Beatles "I Saw Her Standing There"

GnR "Sweet Child O' Mine"

:disgust:

Eminem "Lose Yourself"... if you really have to, there's much better shiat out there prior to 8 Mile.

Elton John.

But then again, as the Stones put it best... "You Can't Always Get What You Want"

I learned to not trust RS anymore after they put Hammet at #11 in greatest guitarists of all time when he should be way way down. And Jimmy Page at 9. That made me angry, now to put Stairway at #31. I say OMGWTFBS

Your true gripe is where they put Kurt Cobain (near the top) and Eddie Van Halen (near the bottom) on that list.
