ROLLING STONE: It's Already Stolen

Don?t worry about Mickey Mouse or ACORN stealing the election. According to an investigative report out today in Rolling Stone magazine, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast, after a year-long investigation, reveal a systematic program of "GOP vote tampering" on a massive scale.

- Republican Secretaries of State of swing-state Colorado have quietly purged one in six names from their voter rolls.

Over several months, the GOP politicos in Colorado stonewalled every attempt by Rolling Stone to get an answer to the massive purge - ten times the average state's rate of removal.

- While Obama dreams of riding to the White House on a wave of new voters, more then 2.7 million have had their registrations REJECTED under new procedures signed into law by George Bush.
Kennedy, a voting rights lawyer, charges this is a resurgence of 'Jim Crow' tactics to wrongly block Black and Hispanic voters.

- A fired US prosecutor levels new charges - accusing leaders of his own party, Republicans, with criminal acts in an attempt to block legal voters as "fraudulent."

- Digging through government records, the Kennedy-Palast team discovered that, in 2004, a GOP scheme called "caging? ultimately took away the rights of 1.1 million voters. The Rolling Stone duo predict that, this November 4, it will be far worse.

There's more:

- Since the last presidential race, "States used dubious 'list management' rules to scrub at least 10 million voters from their rolls."

Among those was Paul Maez of Las Vegas, New Mexico - a victim of an unreported but devastating purge of voters in that state that left as many as one in nine Democrats without a vote. For Maez, the state's purging his registration was particularly shocking - he's the county elections supervisor.

The Kennedy-Palast revelations go far beyond the sum of questionably purged voters recently reported by the New York Times.

"Republican operatives - the party's elite commandos of bare-knuckle politics," report Kennedy and Palast, under the cover of fighting fraudulent voting, are "systematically disenfranchis[ing] Democrats."

The investigators level a deadly serious charge:

"If Democrats are to win the 2008 election, they must not simply beat McCain at the polls - they must beat him by a margin that exceeds the level of GOP vote tampering."

Block the Vote by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. & Greg Palast in the current issue (#1064) of Rolling Stone.

[Media enquiries - Dave Falkenstein, Sunshine Sachs & Assoc, via interviews@gregpalast.com.]

Note - Kennedy and Palast are releasing, simultaneously with the Rolling Stone investigative report what they call, the vote-theft 'antidote': a 24-page full-color comic book, Steal Back Your Vote, which can be downloaded or obtained in print from their non-partisan website, StealBackYourVote.org

And that's why I'm not voting....

It's not gonna count anyway and even if it did you really got to ask yourself what the error % is ... Oh well, it's gonna be fun and it's just beginning to see some of this shit happen. And yeah, I'd probably believe rolling stone before I'd believe in fox, abc, etc...etc...

There is going to be a lot of hand wringing on both sides come election day.

Stories like this are infuriating.

From the RS article:

In 2004, the number of spoiled ballots in New Mexico ? 19,000 ? was three times George Bush's margin of victory. I assume they are talking about the victory for the state of NM.

There's all you need to know right there. All it takes is the slimest of margins to change the outcome.

Spoiled ballots according to the article are:

"spoiled" because blank spaces, stray marks or tears made them indecipherable to voting machines. The losses hit hardest among minorities in low-income precincts, who are often forced to vote on antiquated machines. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, in its investigation of the 2000 returns from Florida, found that African-Americans were nearly 10 times more likely than whites to have their ballots rejected, a ratio that holds nationwide.

Still won't matter once Obama wins VA and IA. CO and NM can do all the vote tampering they want, polling will reveal if this is true or not.

Well, I can hear it now. If by some miracle McCain wins, our friendly leftists will claim it is because he "stole" the election or most Americans are bigots and racists.

Palast is awesome. I remember him getting ahold of the State Department memos on suppressing Iraqi oil production due to pressure from US Oil Firms. Really shines a light on why Iraqi oil production was so much lower than pre-invasion levels, and the oil market is incredibly sensitive to perceptions of reduced production.

You simply Fail. Voter suppression tactics by the Republican party is a crime.

The findings of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights on the 2000 election in Florida:

- black voters were nearly 10 times more likely than nonblack voters to have their ballots rejected.

- approximately 14.4 percent of Florida?s black voters cast ballots that were rejected. This compares with approximately 1.6 percent of nonblack Florida voters who did not have their presidential votes counted.

- 11 percent of Florida voters were African American; however, African Americans cast about 54 percent of the 180,000 spoiled ballots in Florida during the November 2000 election

- 83 of the 100 precincts with the highest numbers of spoiled ballots were black-majority precincts.

Officials anticipated before Election Day, that there would be an increase in levels of voter turnout based upon new voter registration figures, but did not ensure that the precincts in all communities received adequate resources to meet their needs. Many African Americans did not cast ballots because they were assigned to polling sites that did not have adequate resources to confirm voting eligibility status. College students and others submitted voter registration applications on a timely basis to persons and agencies responsible for transmitting the applications to the proper officials, but in many instances these applications were not processed in a timely or proper manner. Polling places were closed early and some polling places were moved without notice. Jewish and elderly voters received defective and complicated ballots that produced ?overvotes? and ?undervotes?.

Not in my America. Not anymore.

Giving up is not an option. To do so makes me sick. If nothing else, this article emphasizes the need for EVERYONE to vote, even if you are in an "uncontestable" state and for everyone to be vigilant.

On election day, I'll be working as part of a legal observation team in a swing state. In 2000 that state went GOP, due in part to dirty election tricks played by the GOP (for which convictions and actual jail time resulted). In 2004 there wer sporadic attempts to disqualify voters by the GOP-essentially bogus and reacted against strongly by the local (GOP) registrar where I was, after some prodding.

One main difference between 2008 and prior elections is that the Obama team is not being merely reactive after the fact, but is taking proactive steps to insure the validity of the system. In part, that is why you are hearing about these potential problems before the election rather than after.

Looks like another MSM article deflecting for Obama again. I knew these articles would come after the ACORN scandle. It is going to be a fun 4 years watching the MSM doing its best to cover for Obama.

How were these statistics determined?

Aren't the ballots secret? How did they know that ballots filled out by black/white/hispanic?

Just curious.

Looking at ACORN et al it looks like they still missed a few million. McCain and the Republicans can hardly even run a campaign but they have masterminded a massive voter fraud? Obama and Dem thugs are turning the plumbers live inside out while "truth sqauds" operate and Republican donors are threatened and the ReeferStoned magazine is worried about "elite commandos" from GOP? This is a facrce only juveniles could be prey to.

Lenin told his agitprop operatives "accuse others of what you do". The media and BO campiagn have been exposed by the naked fraud and thugery from the Stalinist left and now they are trying to spin it so they are the victims. This is a third world election.

Where did I say this in my post? lawl. VA is now SOLID BLUE. NM doesn't matter. at. all. Did Kerry win NM or CO? uh, no, so Obama doesn't have to. Just icing on the cake, they can commit all the fraud they want but polling shows that Obama owns CO.
