rolling back my drivers....

See, Im downloading an old package of nvidia nofrce drivers for my motherboard. Im not really sure which all drivers are in this package, so I dont know all what to uninstall. Do i have to uninstall, wont installing this old package of drivers just over write the new drivers that are in?

Having been a member of the beta-test program for the forcewares since well before they were called forcewares, I can tell you the latest set is the best of the bunch, and beyond rolling back the SW IDE to the default MS set I wouldn't personally use any of the others again.

ummm thanks for answering my question.........

I'm rolling back cause Im getting a blue screen, driver irql less or equal, and I dont no which device driver is causing the problem.

so can anyone out there answer my question?

Normally, no, you do not need to uninstall your older drivers.

However, it is not unheard of for nVidia and ATI drivers to behave badly in this respect. Most especially when updating nVidia drivers from 30.xx to 40.xx. In that case -- or any case where you're getting BSOD from a driver file like nv4_disp.dll, usually 0x0A error code -- I would recommend following the procedure outlinged in the Driver Cleaner 3.1 readme:

1. Unplug nic card or modem from net or disconnect
2. Remove nvidia from add/remove programs
3. Reboot into safe mode (F8 during boot up)
4. On reboot into safe mode WinXP SP1/SP2 will auto detect and install drivers. Just let it do its thing. If you can cancel out of the auto install hardware wizard then skip the rest and run Driver Cleaner! If you can NOT cancel out of auto detect wizard then...
5. Navigate to device mgr->display adapters->highlight nVidia and click uninstall or remove but don't reboot
6. Disable any AntiVirus Software (If you don't disable is than it could give trouble)
7. Run Cab Cleaner (not needed, but recommended)
8. Run Driver Cleaner
9. Empty recycle bin and reboot
10. Install the new drivers

Those are for display drivers, but the steps are basically the same.
