ZOMG lol.

0-30 1.6 (!!!)
0-60 4.3
0-100 10.3
1/4 in 12.8 @ 110.8
lateral G .94

Makes me wonder at what point will manufacturers say they've reached a limit in terms of performance to cost. Those numbers are already hitting close to supercar numbers and all for 30k. I can't imagine anyone offering a sub 4 second car for that price anytime in the near future.

:hmm:

Daaaammmnn...

With a perfect launch and a perfect 1-2, I might, might in cool weather be able to match that 0-60 and after that I'm breathing exhaust fumes.

wow. they just raised the bar big time. the old mustang was hanging with the new camaro ss in the twisty stuff, this one will annihilate it in a straight line as well.

Yeah, I think this time Ford brought a nuke to a gun fight. I've *never* seen a gen change this severe before, and just a scant decade ago, the Mustang GT was sort of a joke, and the Mustang V6 WAS a joke.

Makes me wonder what GM can do, this thing is going to be sold out constantly.

wish no more (from autoblog):

I think they got a little overzealous with that Audi comparison, those seats look awesome, but I think some of the dash looks a little hard and isn't really at the Audi level.

I'm not complaining though, looks pretty classy and much better than the Camaro.

Inside line had different numbers.

0-60 4.8
1/4 13.0 @ 110.6

.91 lateral G

That was with the 3.73 rear end.

I also wonder about the dyno numbers. 395 RWHP would translate into around 465hp at the crank with a 15% drive train loss. I know that under rating is something that's always speculated about, but why so much? There isn't anything within $40k that has that much power. GM needs to get the 5.4L DOHC with DI into the market.

Same trap speed, but uglier number getting out of the hole. Their numbers for the Camaro SS and Challenger were low as well. What are they up to over there?

Makes me think GM is kinda screwed cuz they have to be careful not to step on the Corvettes toes and cannibalize any more sales which they already have been with the Camaro. Ford doesn't have to worry about that with the Mustang.

Edmunds doesn't seem to abuse the cars as much as C/D/MT does. That or C/D, MT report numbers with rollout.

Not that it matters but I give my dash a little love tap every morning and afternoon prior to getting on my 45 mile highway of death commute on I-75.

Cannot split hairs here, this car is in every way better than my current ride, more comfortable, better equipped, better performing, better MPG, cheaper to maintain...the list is endless.

Damn, I actually really want a '11 V6 Mustang! It's too bad it'll probably be a long time before any deals can be had on them.. I'm sure demand will be strong for quite a while.
And I'm the kinda guy that likes to max out options so finding a used one isn't likely either since most people seem happy with a base model w/ cloth seats and no tech (SYNC, HIDs, etc).

Maybe their test conditions, or their test driver?

Yeah, one of those links mentioned something about a "1 foot dragstrip rollout."

So yours will be $40k.

V6, not V8. If pricing is in line with the '10 model it'd be more like $35k including the glass roof.
I'm sure deals are fantastic on the '10 models right now, but I have 0 interest in one.

In fact if Edmunds.com has correct 2011 pricing, the MSRP would be $34,775 and the invoice price is $31,847. I wouldn't pay more than $32,197 for it before TTL but I know the stealerships would be asking at least $36,275 for a while. Even the damn Edge had a $1500 "market adjustment" when I went to look at it with my mom late last year.

These look sorely tempting, but I'm interested in waiting until 2014 with the rumored "50th anniversary" of the Mustang...that should be a sight to see!
