A friend asked me to see if anyone knows how to free up riders who are stuck on rides and want to get off, without shutting down the ride?
 
Has he tried picking the rider up with the toy-crane-like cursor selection? Other than that, I think you have to shut the ride down.
 
In the original, there is a trick where you can pause, close the ride and reopen it. The riders will be taken off of the ride but the line will still be the same length. The people on the boat ride always annoyed me because if you make a path, its a boring ride and if you leave it open, some people will just get lost in the water.
