I love it when publishers start telling their own consumer base that "this is the future". Obviously it wont be if you go bankrupt from it.
Sometimes they have a valid excuse - the sales forecast is too risky or shows too low margin to risk for a larger budget. The price of producing games, while investing and licensing technologies to help support them, are not getting any cheaper. How can you ask people to spend over 50 dollars for a Roller Coaster/Theme Park Sim?
