Another person to really watch for is Verdasco the number 8th seed, who is cruising thru the first two rounds. I believe he is the most improved player this year.

I watched a documentary last night about Micheal Chang, the youngest to ever win the French Open....great memories for me as a kid... stories like his make the French Great.

I agree, but he has a mentality problem that he needs to overcome: he had Nadal beaten in Madrid, but he appears to let doubt get the better of him at crucial moments. In any event, you are correct, he is one to watch.

Yeah I watched that match. He was up 4-0 or 4-1 and lost the set and match. But before that he was just out playing Nadal... the way he was playing those 4 games, I don't think anyone could actually beat that guy. He rips the ball... yeah less margin..lol

How about Sharapova's upset? she was out for a good 10months... coming back to beat the number 11 seed. Yeah I can't stand her grunting either.

haha most people here are too young to remember that. i still remember that vividly, the way he started serving underhanded against lendl in the semis. that was a pretty amazing run.

i'm not a rafa fan. his antics on the court are annoying to me. he is having a pretty remarkable run the over past couple years though.

i'm a federer fan, and i'm hoping this is the year he pulls it out. hopefully his win over nadal at madrid will fuel is confidence.

What antics?

Like scratching his ass before every serve. Sprinting to the baseline after the toss. Jumping up and down like he is about to box.

R. Federer dodge one today. Down 2 breaks in the third set only to come back and win it in a tie breaker. He had a lot of unforced errors tho... a lot of winners too I guess. Great tennis today from what I can tell from the score, I can't wait to get home and watch my recordings.

No, sorry, like Federer, Rafa is one of the most sporting players in the game. He does play with time, but I see no "antics". The respect shown for him by the other players proves this. You may not like Rafa's style, but nobody can criticise his professional conduct.

I am calling my final four to be Tsonga|Monfils|Nadal|Gonzales. I am not sure Roger's game is top notch to beat the crowd and out play Monfils.

Did you guys see when he dove for a point against Melzner... Melzer gave him hi five in change over even ... it was spectacular. He was 3-4 ft in the air like a black superman ...lol

Female tennis should be banned. The grunting is like a public lesbian orgy. If it were the old days, they'd all be burn alive at the stake. Stop the damn grunting!

In the slams the women need to play best of 5 sets from say, QF on.

I'm a Rafa fan, but have you noticed how he arranges his water bottles ? They have to be just so. Connors would have kicked them in to the third row. 😀

I don't see that ever happening. There is less audience for women's tennis so they would not want them occupying center court with just grunting going or lesbian orgy.
If women play 5 setters the level of play will dramatically drop after the third set. generally women don't have big serves and point can be longer... so 5 sets would not work.
They are trying to get more people to watch doubles, which is a great idea IMO ... fun to watch.

Wow. I don't know who to root for now. Both he and Verdasco lost and they were headed for a quarterfinal matchup.

Root for Roddick. Poor guy was even beaten to the altar by Federer.

Roddick won in the wife hotness department though, haha.

Roddick is cool but Monfils won me over with that dive. Looking forward to their matchup tomorrow.

I don't want Federer to win Roland Garros, I'll root for him at Wimbledon.
