Roku2 XS Audio Problems

Just bought a Roku2 XS and hooked it up directly to TV via HDMI cable. I get picture and Roku menu and can even sign in to channels. However I get no sound at all.

I have DirecTV and a Bose Surround Sound System where all sound comes out of/goes through. Don't know how to get the sound to work at all with the Roku. Do I need to hook up the Roku a different way (can it be hooked up to DirecTV receiver?)? Is there a button on the Bose surrund system I need to try (I've pressed them all but Roku is not hooked up to the Bose)? Thanks for your help!
 
In one of the settings on the ROKU is your sound output. It might be set to digital 5.1 vs stereo. I had the opposite problem and this fixed it. I was going ROKU > HDMI > receiver and was only getting stereo. Made the change to digital 5.1 and that solved my problem.
