Good choice. I've been using it for over two years without a prob and with a total of about several hours of downtime. Customer support is always good too.

I have Bell high speed now, and used to have Rogers cable internet service. Let me tell you that they have the exact same prices. They both offer a 25bucks a month for 5 months deal now. But after 5 months, they both charge you 45bucks/month (sympatico charge 5 bucks for the modem rental now 2). Go to their promotional site (sympatico) and read the fine print. HAHA. 🙂

BTW, if you sign up for sympatico over the net, you get the 6th month free (excluding tax).

Over all, I think cable was better (speed wise), but I'm not complaining.

the $5 dollar cdn extra is only for new customer that coming off the promotion deal
me old time customer, still paying $39.95 CDN a month
hope you have not cancel your rogers yet
otherwise it will be 44.95/month with roger or bell
and bell crap you at 5gb per month

The 5GB cap is still just a rumour and hasn't been proposed yet... but it's a possibiility. Besides.. Rogers is also thinking of implementing it.

<< That's like, 12 cents $USD right? >>

No, 2.44223556321324526547 US.......cents..... 🙂
>>

Wow, thats a lot of money. I didnt think it amounted to that much 😉

And this is something new? Roadrunner jacked their prices up late last year by $5. While RR doesn't have a transfer limit, all the modems are bandwith capped. 🙁

I'm pretty sure I've done 5GB in a day. If they go ahead with this, it would really suck 🙁

DAMN.

I swear, the minute Bell gets High Speed to my neighborhood, I am ditching Rogers so fast...

This is just the last of many, many straws for me.

That and I'll get Bell ExpressVu or StarChoice and get rid of the cable.

What you need is Shaw. They've got a $25/month package, limits you to one email(who needs anymore) and 1 10MB webspace, and slightly capped downloads. Pretty good for anything other than high download usage.

I know they both have the same prices but I know for a fact that Bell has WAY BETTER service than Rogers. My connection is soo freaking crappy that its not even funny anymore. I have called them numerous times and made numerious cases with them. It was never resolved. I've been thinking for a long time to ditch them, and now the time has come.

Also the $5 increase is for ALL ROGERS customers, new or old. I have had Rogers (used to be Shaw in the past) for about 4 years now and every year their service becomes worse and worse.

Many people I know have changed to Bell HSE and said its one of the best changes they have made.

I'm so excited...

and yes I do know about how the $25 is only good for 5 months and the 6 month is free (I ordered online) and after that it becomes $45 a month. The increased speed is worth it.

I've been with Bell HSE since Sept. 99 and its great. Like Marty said...hardly any downtime, awesome service, and consistent speed. Yes it's max speed is lower than cable but it's very consistent. My only gripe is the crappy upstream (128kbps).

And to all of you making the canadian money jokes:

maybe our dollar is worth a lot less in US funds but we are still paying less money for high speed in our currency. by your math we're paying less than $1/month US for high speed access so nyah 😛
