Roger is before the judge right now. He said “I don’t offer any rationalization or excuse or justification. This is just a stupid lack of judgment."

She also asked him if he thought this was a serious matter to which he replied it was...

He then goes on to suggest it might have been someone else using his phone who found the image that he then posted. He won't say how he came to have the picture

EDIT: Updating Twitter thread with the proceedings.

Seems like a reenactment from a school Vice Principals office.

Does dipshit understand those two scenarios are mutually exclusive? "I have no excuse for what I did. Unless it wasnt actually ne who did it!"

Which is it, dipshit? Is this the Michael Flynn defense? Cause that went over swimmingly.

Judge is back to rule. Tells Stone she doesn't think he is all talk and his actions posed real risks and were deliberate...

She continues to go after him for knowing what he did was wrong and done with purpose.

His apology rings quite hollow.

You or I would definitely go to jail. Assuming we weren't already there because we couldn't make bail (even without threats to the judge).

Nice "justice" system.

I'm good with this as there's a measured response with real consequences. Remember this is the judge who allowed Manafort all the rope he needed and he's being hung out to dry.

If Stone screws around then he'll find himself in the same situation but "look how unfairly I'm treated" won't get far if he tries to judge shop later. He'll eventually see time behind bars so I'm content to let him put his own rope up and around his neck and kick his own chair out underneath himself.

Class clown got caught flipping the principal the 'ol double barrell one fingered salute so now he got put in the corner of the room with a pacifier stuck in his mouth.

Never fear, first chance Mr. Incorrigible gets, he will flat the principal's car tires and have his buddy Donald make obscene phone calls to the principal's wife.

People like Stone and Manafort are so innately criminals that they won't be able to stop criminaling for even a few months while they're under intense scrutiny. I give him two months.

I read that he claimed he thought the crosshairs was a "Celtic symbol." LOL WTF.

Judge put a gag order on him. That is purgatory for a pompous, bloviating ass like him.

Yes, I agree. Roger Stone is a shitbag of epic proportions but it’s hard to see why he should be imprisoned for this. The judge took actions proportionate to his misbehavior and I’m sure he knows now he’s on the world’s shortest leash.

Sure but what happens when the pompous ass can't keep his trap shut and violates the judge's gag order? That's why I like what the judge did here. Being gagged is like a fate worse than death for Stone and he may just have trouble complying.

When he can’t keep his trap shut he goes to jail, which I’m fine with too.

He really is one of the worst people in the world.

NEWS FLASH! ROGER STONE IS STILL STUPID!

Leaving out the pending release of a book is probably not a very good idea when you're under a toughened gag order and looking at the possibility of being jailed for violating it.

But then again, this is the moron who thought it would be a good idea to get a conservative tramp stamp depicting his favorite dude.

If she locks him up for violating the gag order then Conservatives are just going to chalk it up to mean ol' liberals locking up the "poor guy" just for using his first amendment right. But I'm sure Fox/Rush/Hannity are going to set them straight on how a trial and gag orders work instead of exacerbating misunderstandings of how the system works for political gain, right?

Right??

I thought I heard something about him filing for some sort of legal exception to the gag order because he is writing a book and that self expression is his livelihood.
