Very classy... sad when the major sports organizations will have collectively donated several million dollars and we only started out offering 35mil as a country.

Not to mention all the celebrities who are worth megamillions putting on fundraisers so blue collar and middle class people can donate money so they don't have to.

You mean like Sandra Bullock (who hasn't had a successful movie in quite some time) putting up $1 million of her own money?

... He's right JDub, we started out giving $35million.

last time I checked, it doesn't matter much where you start .. it's where you finish. 😛

IIRC, the 35 mill was a starting point until someone could assess the damage and provide a report to our government as to how much aid would be needed.

From what I hear on the news, our aid will be well over a billion dollars (that's including our expenses .. military, ships, etc.)

Yes Sandy is awesome, but what about Michael Moore, Streisand and the Baldwins?

Kudos to everyone that gives, but even more kudos to those in the limelight who haven't made it public. I'm not making specific accusations, but I'm sure there are many celebrities out there who gave primarily for the good publicity.

How do you know what "the celerbrities" are donating?

better question. Who cares?

The people affected by the tsunami maybe?

I've always like Big Ben since his days at Miami of Ohio, this just shows that he asks as well off the field as he does on it. I must root for the patriots, but i will certainly be cheering for Ben in the future.
On the subject, I'm actually trying to raise/give away $10,000+ myself by running an eBay auction where companies can bid to have me advertise for them for 7 weeks on my forehead and at events.
ForeheadFundraiser.com.
The more traffic and commotion it gets the more likely it is that companies will make a bid and pledge.

I heard that Micheal Schumacher donated $10 million, wow.

Good for him! He is incredibly loaded beyond all imagination yet he comes to vacation in America and can walk down the street without even a second look.

That's because he knows how to turn left and right!

No, that's because 90% of Americans don't have a clue who he is.
