Roethlisberger giving his first playoff check to Tsunami relief

cool, in australia we just finished a charity cricket match - ASIA vs The WORLD, it raised $20 million dollars

Very classy... sad when the major sports organizations will have collectively donated several million dollars and we only started out offering 35mil as a country.

Not to mention all the celebrities who are worth megamillions putting on fundraisers so blue collar and middle class people can donate money so they don't have to.

 to people who care, and  to people who don't.

Awesome that Ben did that... As a rookie, he hasn't even really earned that much $$$ yet... he could have a career ending injury tomorrow and not make a dime for the rest of his life, this is an incredibly benevolent act. 🙂

I hate Bush, but the $35 million pledged was a preliminary number... at that time no one had any clue how much damage was really done and the death count wasnt anywhere near what it is now.

You might want to add a zero or two to that number. I think we've given well over 350 million, not to mention supplies, troops, ships, hospitals, etc.

The federal government has no money to give away. It all belongs to the people (taken in the form of taxes). You really have to look at private charitable contributions.

But that's another discussion better suited for P&N. 🙂

And the first news reports said there were 5,000 casualties....

No one knew the full scope of the devastation at first so just get over it man.
