I just saw the article about that 10 year old. Not only might she be stuck with a kid, but this kind of thing won't be a secret very long. Eventually somebody will reveal her name and home town, humiliating her even more.

The only difference is the 10 year old was able to travel to another state to get an abortion, if every state does what you want then that 10 year old would be forced to carry a baby to term. What about the 10 year olds that don't have the means to travel out of Gilead?

We have a broken democracy, which is far better then where targeted violence leads. Regardless of if it is possible to fix it, we must try before resorting to right wing tactics of destruction.


While it is good to prepare for the possibility of failure, even broken democracy is reason enough to pursue democratic solutions first. We should not drown what chance remains in blood.

They've literally been told from birth that they're never to blame for their problems and Jesus will always forgive them no matter what, so if they do horrible stuff, they have easy outs, it wasn't their fault, and Jesus will forgive them even if it was. We have to really consider the issues that America will soon face. Instead of being united, America is devolving into a collection of soverign states. North vs South. Red vs Blue. If you want to get an abortion, drive to a blue state. If you want to be free from religious meddling you might want to life in NJ, CA or MA. This is where we are headed, and it might just be the beginning of our downfall. I guess only time will tell.
