My friend seems so goddamn obessed with his stupid speakers that I'm irritated at the mention of Rockford Fosgate now. I don't even give a damn if they're good!

He just has two 6-by-9 speakers in the back (JVC or something in the front, smaller ones). No amp/sub.

RF is not competiton equipment...but for general purpose subs and amps, they are fine, despite a slight overpricing.

My friend has 4 RF 12"s hooked up to his home theater, enough bass that when he first hooked them up and watched a movie things around the house broke, fell, shattered.. I do like Rockford.

Seems to be the choice of idiot Camaro/Mustang/stereos-so-loud-and-annoying-it-should-be-against-the-law people, but then again, I run one of their 100w x 1 amps in the back of my car... yeah they're pretty good. :)

Their premier line or whatever the hell it is called is great. The silver series amps and the upper level subs are great. It's not crap that a local BB or CC are going to sell.

I heard Fosgate stuff sux now that they just recently moved their manufacturing from Japan to Korea. Is this true?

we just had Rockford Fosgate speakers installed all the way around in my wifes cavalier and they pound hard. I have 2 12" subs in my trunk and they also hit hard. Rockfords are one of the best manufacturers.

I think they are located in Tempe (sp?) Arizona. That's where my sub was shipped from anyway.

Yep after Sony bought into them..

My friend bought a new 200Watt RF 2 Channel amp.. now if this were one of the old series of amps it would have powered his 2 12"s no prob.. but being the newer model it could barely power only one of his 12's and even then the amp was hot to the touch in less than 5 mins.. the real irony is the fact that he's powering 2 12 inch RF Subs..

The best bang for the buck IMO is Power Acoustic.. bought a 2 Channel 420w Amp for $125 and it doesn't even get warm powering 2 12 inch JBLs.

Rockford PUNCH amps are great IMO. Very powerful..not the cleanest sound you'll get but good bang for the buck. The subs are a bit loose but hold up very well and also have good punch. Their speakers I'm not too impressed with.
