Holey muther!

Was channel surfing and stopped on some channel called Impacto (spanish speaking) showing an outdoor stadium where people were lighting off fireworks at a soccer/football/whatever game. Someone launched a rocket across the stadium, it landed in a guy's eye socket and lodged in his skull - and continued to spew flames/rocket blast. A kid was holding the guy and screaming as the flames spewed and his Dad's (dunno if it was his dad) head was cooked. Blood everywhere. The guy died.

I suddenly don't feel so bad that there are fireworks restrictions in Minnesota. You can't control the idiocy of others. I still can't believe I just saw that. :disgust:

*Edit 1:

Of course, poor guy - but his kid.......... Watching his Dad's head burn, screaming for help, trying to shake the rocket out of his Dad's eye.... The TV zoomed in and you could clearly see the rocket shooting flames out of the guys skull. Huge flames, looked like the kids hands were getting burned as he held onto his dad. Little while later, they showed police covering the body with pieces of cardboard, blood all over the steps.

*Edite 2

For all I know, it could have been the kids's older brother or Uncle or friend. My first impression is that it was his Dad.

Outdoor stadium. Bunch a people were lighting off fireworks in the bleachers. Camera followed the smoke trail of on e of the rockets that was launched horizontally and then zoomed in as it lodged, exploded and part of it remain lodged in the guys skull. I dunno if the explosion or the continued burn killed the guy, but his kid was holding on to him and shaking him screaming for help...

I just saw it on some spanish channel Impacto as I was channel surfing. I wouldn't be surprised to see it show up on the net sooner or later. It seemed to be today's news, but I don't speak spanish so I don't know. It'll probably replay.

Jesus Christ. If it was the guy lighting it that's one thing, but he just killed some kid's father.

Hope he gets the chair.

Actually, I think the crowd went after the guy/kid who launched the rocket. Couldn't tell. I don't speak the language and they seemed to be showing clips of different riots after that. Mexican justice is a bit more expedient than the US legal system it appears.

It was Channel 70 UNI on Minnesota Mediacom, the News show was "Impacto".

The fact the guy who he killed died a horrible death has nothing to do with it. He shouldn't die if he was just shooting off a rocket, stupidly or not. If he intentionly shot the guy in the eye with a rocket then I could see how death might be more appropriate.

M80s in his wired shut mouth going off sequentially would be fitting.

The fellow who lit the fatal rocket is no more guility of anything then anyone else in the statium who lit a rocket. Sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

Agreed. How many people were setting off fireworks? If lots of people were doing it and it was perfectly fine to be doing so then the guy deserves no punishment at all. It was an accident.

I don't recall seeing how it was launched, but if it were an accident as in the rocket tipped over; that's one thing. However, if the guy aimed it at the bleachers (whether he intended to hurt somebody or not) there's an accounting be reckoned. It's not like the thing was a little bottle rocket, it was big and powerful enough that a person should just plain know not to aim it near people.

Haven't been able to find any internet video on it yet. Prolly just a matter of time.

If and when this video makes its rounds on the 'net I don't know that I want to see it. Sounds too disturbing and sad.

edit: I call BS anyway, sorry. Most fireworks rockets only burn for 2-3 seconds at most.
