Playing on HARD

I passed GG&HT on my first try.

I've passed Flirtin' with Disaster once in the 50+ times I've tried it. I always fail at 70-75%.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen to me when I was working on hard, I had GG&HT 5* for a while before I could get a pass on FWD. FWD's solo is long enough and difficult enough that you have to be able to get through a fairly long portion of it without help from Over Drive to pass the song, where as the GG&HT chard is dumbed down enough that this really never becomes an issue. Practice Solos A, B, and C; if you can get past these, OD will keep you alive through solo D.

Oddly enough, the expert charts for these two songs are the opposite. Passing FWD on expert is trivial for me now, but I fail GG&HT about half the time.

The game doesn't start till you play expert. Come back and see if you feel the same way once you get there.

Yeah I would agree.

Just recently beat the regular songs on Hard, and now have moved onto Expert.
I'm only on like the 4th set, it's ridiculously hard for me.

On hard, flirting with disaster probably is harder than GGAHT. But, on expert flirting with disaster isn't that much harder while GGAHT makes a big jump in the difficulty of its solos. The final solo is the hard part... the zigzags are very hard to do. I can pass the song, but I always need to use overdrive at just the right points to do it. The problem with the zig zags and the really fast descending triplets is that those sections are so darn long... it's impossible to stay on it for the entire duration of those sections, and once you miss it's just about impossible to get back "on" it.

On hard though you're right, Flirting is tougher.

I understand your point, but I think it's a bit overstated here. There are plenty of people that have fun playing on Easy/Medium/Hard.

We're not talking about fun though, just difficulty. It's just like GH3 is harder than RB, but isn't as fun. But yeah, the zigzags in GGHT take some practice.

But even though I can do some songs on expert on drums, I still prefer to play them on hard for the fun of it.

I know, I'm just saying that when most people claim GG&HT is the hardest they're on the expert level.

It's not the hardest imo, just the length (10mins?) on expert is exhausting. Ive only beaten it on expert a few times and most of the fails happen around 8 1/2 mins into it. I just get too tired and f'up a lot. I don't think i'll ever goldstar it. :)
