Rock Star INXS

GasX

Lifer
The wife and I have gotten sucked in. It's enteratining watching reality show contestants doing some actual entertaining...

Jordis' Man Who Sold The World... :Q awesome!

I'm interested in it only because I want to see what happens to one of my more favored bands after the singer gets selected.

I've watched a couple. Some of the artists are pretty talented, altho if anyone thinks they'll pick a woman, they'll be sadly disappointed.

I've been watching, I was glad to see Tara go this week. Very poor outfit and song selection on Tuesday, she doomed herself to the bottom 3. They still have more dead weight to shake off though...

Last week was a total disaster, but this week they all had good performances.

Right now, Jordis, Marty, Mig, JD and Ty are the only ones with a real shot. Out of those, Mig and Marty are the weakest. Ty is awesome but seems to rub the band the wrong way. JD is a headcase, but does great on the rock songs. Jordis is uber-talented, but I agree that being female is a big strike against her.

That's just my opinion though.

I haven't watched the show, but what I'm a little confused by is why any really talented singer would want to join INXS. I don't say that because they were a bad band - they weren't - but they haven't had success in well over a decade, and being their lead singer would just mean playing their hits at amusement parks and state fairs for a couple of years. It's not like you're joining U2, or the Rolling Stones.

You'd think the logical band to have as the basis for a show like this would be Van Halen, who are such a weird cast of characters that they'd at least make it interesting, and who would easily be able to tour huge stadiums once the new singer was in place.

I think they are a super group because they can pack the seats in Australia and Japan or something.

And the Stones weren't available...

Yep, I've been watching, I enjoy the show. It's like American Idol, the difference being that the contestants have actual talent 😉

Man who sold the world was very well done, but I can't see her winning it all....

Jordis is my favorite, but I think she would be better off forming a band of her own. I think either Marty, Mig or maybe JD fit INXS the best.

rezzing this

If people start voting again, I think Suzie will suddenly start getting mucho votes.... She sucked early on, but has gotten better every week!

I saw "INXS" related to something on television;
watched about 15 minutes of the show
decided it wasn't worth watching.

I refuse to watch it because I loved INXS, and I can't possibly imagine them bringing in a new singer without absolutely destroying their sound. They should rename the band if they're going to go along with this.

Well, the "reality" part is dumb, but the performances are sometimes AWEsome.

I'm glad I didn't like INXS before this because if I did this whole thing would just piss me right off. How lame do you have be to turn to reality tv to replace a member of your band?

While It is a good idea, Eddie VH would never do this simply because of his ego.

I've been watching this show as of late. I cannot see JD losing at this point. The guy has enormous talent. He doesn't have the greatest voice but can belt out tunes effortlessly. Check out his video for Money and Pretty Vegas(his own song) and California Dreamin'

link to videos here

I haven't watched this show, so I'm interested in knowing if any of the contestants have even a 10th of the talent that the original INXS vocalist had?

You don't even know that "original INXS vocalists" name, yet you seem to perceive him as a god? Though I'm sure you could give us all a full rundown of his "talent" as you see it.

Of course he is viewed as a god because he is dead. Michael Hutchence was a decent vocalist and and very good artistic songwriter, but because he died, he got placed on a pedestal just like Kurt Cobain. LOL
