The content for this month seems to be dedicated to winning over the people that think Rock Band's guitar is "too easy" compared to GH3. Personally, I don't think many of these songs will be fun to play with my particular group of friends. So I'm a little disappointed, but you can't please everyone all the time.

March 4 - Thrash Pack
At The Gates: Blinded By Fear
Evile: Thrashes
The Haunted: Shadow World

March 11
Bad Company: Shooting Star (COVER)
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Simple Man
The Police: Message in a Bottle

March 18 - NIN Pack
Nine Inch Nails: March of the Pigs
Nine Inch Nails: The Collector
Nine Inch Nails: The Perfect Drug

March 25 - Metal Pack
Iron Maiden: Wrathchild (COVER)
Black Sabbath: Supernaut (COVER)
Metallica: Fuel

Ha, I have no idea. Other than the initial forecast and this report, Harmonix has been announcing most of the DLC on their message boards the Monday before it goes live. At least there's still one more month for me to get my bubble-gum pop in. :p

Never heard of any of the March 4 bands.

March11 and March 25 stuff is awesome.

Perfect drug will be ridiculous on the drums.

WTB Feb schedule...

I am loving the March 11. Too bad I've had ANOTHER Guitar Hero 3 guitar go bad on me. Off to return it too.

Wrathchild...hmmm....not the best Maiden song, but it will do until they come out with full albums. I wish they'd do Hallowed Be Thy Name now, though.

I think I remeber Trent Reznor saying they don't even play The Perfect Drug live because the drum portion is so ridiculous.

I would LOVE GFR "Closer to home, I'm your Captain". 10 mins of groovin' bassline. That would be sweet.

Very not excited...i've bought an average of one song a week, but i can see going the whole month without songs. :-(

Hopefully they'll release Nevermind during march to have something new to play...but i doubt it.

The March 4 stuff is going to be pretty ridiculous, and definitely not for everyone. It's a lot heavier than anything I can recall being in RB, but I don't own my own copy so I could be wrong. The singing is going to put a lot of people off since it's pretty much just screaming and growling. The guitar isn't nearly as hard as some of the other songs of the same style. The drums are probably going to be the hardest part. What I think they need to do for RB is make some sort of double-bass pedal. They could add some songs with seriously sick drum parts that would be near impossible without it.

The rest of the stuff seems alright. I like the group of NIN songs, the classic rock stuff is ok but could have been better, the metal pack really needs reworked. Throw in The Trooper, Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, or Killers for the Maiden song. The Wizard, N.I.B, or After Forever for Sabbath. As for Metallica...anything BEFORE Load would be much better, but that's just my 2 cents. What I really want to see is some Prog style bands like Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree. Awesome guitar parts, sick drums, and normal vocals/lyrics.

I swear to God most of the people who buy Rock Band are classic rockers. Almost every forum I've seen about these releases has guys that are all "let's get'er done, buddy". Like those guys from that movie

I don't listen to classic rock, I haven't listened to Metallica since the whole napster fiasco, and covers of already crappy songs aren't going to interest me.

The ONLY things that even remotely interest me in March are the NIN songs, and that's reaching, cuz I'm not a huge NIN fan either.

I would sacrifice a new-born kitten to play the full Blue Album by Weezer (I doubt it's in the works, but that is what I consider to be classic), and I cannot wait until they release Nevermind.

Or maybe Foo Fighter's - The Colour and the Shape? That would be amazing.

OR... and this would be unbelievable: Coheed and Cambria's - The Second Stage Turbine Blade.

I guess, unfortunately, musical tastes are subjective, and you can't please everyone all the time, so I'll suffer through March and hope that April, or even Feb bring good tidings for me and my friends.

Not that it takes away from anything you're saying, but Black Sabbath's NIB is already available as DLC (along with Sweet Leaf and and War Pigs) and Paranoid was on the disc. Between the disc and DLC, there were already four pre-Load Metallica songs (Enter Sandman, Blackened, Ride the Lightning, ...And Justice For All).

I hope they eventually start releasing more than three songs a week. At this rate, I have very little hope for my guilty pleasure emo stuff (Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab, etc :p). Go ahead, skewer me for it.

I'd rather of had "Wish" from NIN, and for God's sake, someone release "Alive" by Pearl Jam! Some Marilyn Manson tracks wouldn't hurt either.

even though I feel excited that someone else recommended Coheed and Cambria, I feel discouraged by the rest of your post.

'Get 'er done' is linked to classic rock now? Jesus that's saddening. Since when?
And as far as SSTB being the album to release.. I don't think so. Don't get me wrong, I am probably the biggest Co&Ca fan on this forum, HOWEVER... I don't think SSTB has the right sound for Rock Band.. while there are some definitely good progressive elements throughout the album, it's far from enough rock to make playing all the instruments real fun. I love the album, and think it's great music, but it wouldn't score enough of a crowd besides the Co&Ca fans. Now, either of the 3 albums that follow, are all great candidates in my opinion. But I doubt we'd ever see In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 or Second Stage Turbine Blade. Just for the reason of the assorted songs. We might be graced with some singles. I expect, some day, they may release Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV, Vol 2: No World For Tomorrow, as quite frankly, it's their most rocking album yet. Sadly not enough progressive elements imho, and I truly wish Chris Pennie had the opportunity to actually drum on the album, would have seen much more progressive drumming, as that man is no man, but a god. I'd love them to release a Willing Well pack, with the 4 Willing Well songs from 'Star IV, Vol 1: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness. Those are incredibly progressive and probably feature Co&Ca's most technically proficient progressive layering I've ever heard from them. It'd be a killer to play all 4 back to back though: that's 28 minutes of music right there since all 4 pass the 7 minute mark. :)

and you should know Ten Speed is being released soon iirc.

Ten speed came out on Tues for 360 and ps3 today. It is a cover but I think it is fine and it is a fun guitar chart.

I know the game is called Rock Band but I would like less classic rock or heavy stuff and more radioish songs.

I also agree that Foo Fighter's - The Colour and the Shape would be awesome.

That's what Guitar Hero 3 is about. I'm playing the Career mode on Hard the past two days...there are only a handful of songs that are considered "popular" to us youngins. The rest are all either crap, classic rock, or both.

Least RB has DLC...the ones that have come out for GH3 have been absolute garbage, save the Foo Fighters pack. (Which was alright, would have wanted My Hero or Hey Johnny Park or something) Well that and the Halo theme, which kicks ass. :)

We also didn't have to walk to school barefoot in the snow uphill for 6 miles either, grandpa. ;)

What I don't understand is that when I was 'young' I liked both the current pop and classic rock. I still remember discovering my dad's old school Led Zeppelin vinyl and loving it to death. You know what I still listen to now? Yup, Led Zeppelin. I couldn't even name the majority of the 'pop' bands I loved back then.

Amen. They dont know what real music is. All of these halfassed bands probably completely suck live. Im sorry, but wheezer? Puhlease!
