Robotic cleaning devices?

Anybody know a thing or two about them? If I have hard flooring throughout a home would one of those robotic cleaning devices be a good idea? Aparently they can be programed to run at a certain time and return to the charging station when they get low on battery...how does that work (finding home)? Could you hide the charging station under a cabinet or something? Im not opposed to cleaning myself, but if all the flooring is hardwood then Id have to move a bunch of furniture everyday to clean everything, which could do more damage. A small robotic device could get under and around things much easier and would always keep the floor from damage. Dust is a real killer on wood (so is water).

Reminds me of the tweet I read somewhere:

"OMG.. My dog pooped on the floor and Roomba did its round... YES, it is everywhere."

They'll eat carpet fringe. They won't do whole house before dying. They'll get stuck. Basically a gimmick. Took ours back.

Besides I have little slaves now.
